Seems like this giant Europe tour should eliminate Metallica from contention. Can’t see them tacking on an underattended Coachella set to kick this off.
Not sure I follow the logic. Their schedule would give them a few weeks off post-U.S. tour and two weeks off pre-European tour, so Coachella fits perfectly, and they wouldn't just say no if they were offered because they might not have a large attendance.

I realize there’s not clear logic here, but it’s a huge tour, it’ll have been on sale for months by January, they sell well over there so they don’t need Coachella promotion, so why would they tack on an extra fest? If they were playing Coachella you’d think they’d want to leverage that publicity into a couple US shows next summer.

I too don't think it's out of the question, but a couple other observations:
1. They play shows all over California this fall 2. They'll be touring pretty heavily from now until March, so they might want that long gap off between March and leaving for Europe in May.
It didn't feel particularly likely before the announcement, but the Europe tour announcement makes them seem even less likely, IMO, for the above reasons and the reasons already mentioned.
Hmm, agree to disagree I guess. It was well known that their late 2018 / early 2019 shows were kind of "unfinished business" hitting smaller markets they haven't played in a long time and they would be essentially done playing big markets in North America so I never expected them to add more dates. IMO, ending your North American tour with a Coachella stop where you can actually sell your fans on "this will be the last North American shows in a while, so you may want to get out for it" could get some actual fans to travel for it (especially given their heavy Bay Area fanbase).
One of the variables was I just assumed they'd be done after Grand Rapids, but now that they are touring well into 2019 - and live in California - I don't think it's that big of a hassle for them to play 2 shows over a 6 week break. It may not be "likely" in the sense that I don't know if they're the most realistic option on the table, but I don't feel this holds them back at all.

So apparently Childish Gambino has a broken foot. While he could recover by April, there's a possibility that his upcoming LA shows will be cancelled. If that happens then I assume they'll be rescheduled which could take him out for Coachella.

Axl Rose and Florence Welsh would like a word with you.

Only shared Kali Uchis last year at a first glance. I think Blood Orange is a little bigger but could just be out of touch on that one. I guess not totally out

III Points was in October last year though. It’s in February now.
I wouldn’t mind seeing James Blake again. He was amazing at Osheaga but would prefer the money go to someone I haven’t seen. Also Iglooghost and Sophie are available as far as I’m concerned so that could be some interesting DJ sets if iii points crossover isn’t allowed
