It's entirely possible that the set would be a complete shitshow/mockery of epic proportions but I'd still like to see Kanye live. Probably one of the few on here.

I'm just happy I guessed all three headliners for the Coachella boards lineup pool. Regretting putting Kids See Ghosts instead for Delicious Meatball Sub 's pool.
This should've been more obvious from the recent Palm Springs mansion purchase by the Kardashians.
Yet I feel like I will be correct about Kanye being there, from months ago
And that's cool you can guess correctly but that doesn't make you not an idiot. Even a chimpanzee at a typewriter will write "Kanye is headlining Coachella" eventually, and I'm assuming that's what happened here.
Six months ago I would've been first to defend Kanye to the end of the line - no ifs, ands, or buts. With everything that's happened since he first tweeted ye was coming June 1st, I'm really really surprised he's rumored for this
I'm not really buying the Ye Coachella rumor but doesn't the fact that he literally just played SNL kinda go against what everyone is saying about how Coachella wouldn't dare put him on the lineup with the Trump stuff?
Somehow if Kanye said he sees some good in Trump I think people would be more upset than they were with Badu saying she saw good in Hitler.
I mean of course those comments were bad lol (and people did get mad at them!), but the difference between the two is that since the day Erykah Badu released New Amerykah Part Two 8 years ago, Kanye has put out 17 top 40 singles and 5 number one albums, done three huge tours and a famous Coachella headlining set, started a popular fashion line, got married to one of the most famous people in the world, and did a complete political 180 from "George Bush doesn't care about black people". of course more people are going to be mad at the more famous person with the bigger platform!
Over reaction and hawt takes have reached a crescendo. Having awful opinions and doing dumb shit isn’t going to affect them booking him.
I understand where this is coming from but I dont know if people who are saying this have seen Kanye. When I saw him on TLOP, he did a 2.5 hour set and 20-25 minutes of that was him going on a stream of consciousness rant. In the modern festival landscape, they essentially only give headliners 1.5 hours unless you are McCartney. So if Yandhi flops, say he plays 4 Ye songs, 4 Yandhi songs, and a 20-25 minute MAGA rant, you only have 20-30 minutes left in the set at that point for the good stuff.
Booking Kanye would give Coachella massive amounts of media attention. Even if the set ends up being a shitshow it still puts millions of eyes on Coachella and keeps everybody talking about it, because as much as we all dislike what Kanye is doing right now, the Yeezy thread is at 100 pages and is on the front page everyday.
Personally I dislike that I care so much about everything Kanye does. I care less than I did three months ago, I'm hoping over time I continue to care less.
It doesn't speak highly of me and my priorities, but Ye's lackluster and uninspired SNL performance dropped my opinion of him as an artist significantly, even moreso than his shenanigans over the past few months.

I dismissed Kanye because I didn't think there would be another hiphop headliner, especially another male one, but I believe it. Hope he gets #metoo'd and futz Phil Anschutz.

Ego in charge of every move, he's a star And we can't look away Due to the days that he caught our hearts He's fallin' apart, but we deny it Justifying that half-ass shit he dropped, we always buy it When he tell us he a genius but it's clearer lately It's been hard for him to look into the mirror lately There was a time when this n***a was my hero, maybe That's the reason why his fall from grace is hard to take 'Cause I believed him when he said his shit was purer and he The type of n***a swear he real but all around him's fake The women, the dickriders, you know, the yes men Nobody with the balls to say somethin' to contest him So he grows out of control Into the person that he truly was all along, it's startin' to show Damn, wonder what happened Maybe it's my fault for idolizing n***s Based off the words that he rappin' When come to find out, these n***s don't even write they shit Hear some new style bubblin' up, then they bite the shit Damn, that's what I get for lyin' to myself Well, fuck it, what's more important is he's cryin' out for help While the world's eggin' him on, I'm beggin' him to stop Playin' his old shit, knowin' he won't top it, false prophets
I havent. But Hits Daily Double is a pretty reputable source. If I had to guess they probably booked him recently (due to Flog Gnaw exceeding all expectations in ticket sales and Yahndi being announced) and he blabbed about it backstage at SNL. But thats just my theory.
