Coachella opening up a fourth headline slot to double down on all male headliners is one thing, but to do so for Mumford & Sons is so tremendously confounding and hilarious at the same time.

I doubt Mumford would co headline, even with Gambino. They were #2 at Outside Lands in 2015 behind Elton John and over the Black Keys and Kendrick Lamar, I have a hard time believing they wouldn't just have Gambino sub under them. I bet they'll play Gov Ball and maybe Boston Calling
Doubling down on musicians who casually embracing right wing politicians I guess
They did? I knew they took a picture with Jordan Peterson. Ironically though, Jordan Peterson isn’t right wing, not a politician, and is Canadian. Mumford always felt like an awful possibility though.
No way would Mumford do anything but headline. They could easily sell out three nights at the Forum or the Bowl when some headliners can't do that.
Those dates are weird. But even if they play Friday (19th) would they go straight into their Euro tour with no break on the 25th?
Does seem weird but I can see them placeholding/backup for Coachella but playing the West coast around a couple U.S. festivals late summer. Other than their LA warmup show, Arctic Monkeys haven't been to the west coast on this tour yet and its been going on since May so I can see Mumford just staggering it too.

IF they actually found themselves on the lineup the break would be the end of March up to Coachella.

This whole “they have to have a female headliner thing” is pretty overblown. It’s not an affront to the gender if they can’t book a worthwhile female act to headline.

yeah hes a classical liberal which could never ever be possibly considered right wing

i agree with this in general, however are JT, Mumford and Kanye worthwhile? Not to me

Is this referring to the "classical liberal" professor Jordan Peterson?
It depends on how you define truth.
The original notion of truth wasn't objective true it was like "the arrow flies straight and true". It meant something like reliably on it's way to the appropriate destination, something like that. When Christ said "I am the truth, and the way" the truth he was talking about wasn't an objective truth, so the idea that I had somehow taken the idea of truth that was objective all along and done something crooked with it is wrong. To me there's two kinds of truth and they may be commensury, you may be able to stack them on top of each other but now and then they disassociate. So there's the truth that manifest itself in the manner in which you act and there's the truth that manifest itself as a manifestation of the objective world. And sometimes those truths are stacked on top of each other and sometimes they're not. So I can give you a piece of wisdom that would work well if you acted it out that carried with it an inaccurate representation of part of the objective world. And you could say well maybe that's actually the case with the biblical stories, because if you read them as science, they don't read well.

my favorite tid bit about jordan peterson is that he claims that he drank a cup of apple cider and didnt sleep for the next 26 days

It is to the general public. You really seem to be all about how you feel in every single post.

yeah, i do talk about my opinion on here. I would also say that the general festival public has a large percentage of female attendees. Perhaps they dont care if the headliners are female or male, I dont really know I havent done a poll, but in terms of what the general public wants, I dont think you know any more than I do

I like how I had no idea what this was but as I read further and further I started reading it in his voice.

Other than his views on gender politics, climate change, and “PC culture” generally, I guess he’s a pretty straight shooter.
He says and thinks a ton of dumb shit but he's not pushing or campaigning for right wing politicians. It's pretty much what would happen if you gave your friends dad a microphone and a platform and we all started caring about everything they said.

Hahahaha what?
from what I have seen here, you seem extremely confident that Kanye is a slam dunk choice for a headliner. the end of the Saint Pablo tour didnt sell well. Then he started going on these Pro-trump rants, making people in the public, and Scooter Braun, think that he needed to be checked into a mental hospital. hes now back from the mental hospital, and he is saying pretty much the same stuff. he then dropped an album that was received significantly worse than TLOP. My personal question to myself in thinking if Kanye is a good choice for a headliner or not, is would Kanye be able to sell an arena tour 75-80% through right now if he announced it in the next month or so. I really dont think the answer to that is yes.

The answer is absolutely yes.
I dont know how people are so sure of this. Fleetwood Mac is seen as a dream booking for a number of people in this thread and their 2019 tour is doing pretty badly
