also this is a completely unsubstantiated assertion but I don’t feel that Anderson Paak is bigger than HAIM and that Solange maaaaaybe is. I think we just really really like both of them. (but also I wouldn’t be mad if they subbed.)
Cause their show was well received (despite technical difficulties), have grown a lot since then and have a nice gap in April for a West Coast tour.
GvF aren't the only ones rumoured to come back, ROC and BH do too. If they do come back, that's the question ofcourse.
Rex Orange County only played one weekend and was a surprise show that got announced like an hour before hand. I don't think it makes sense for Brockhampton to come back either, but they're at least good, unlike GVF.
Also there's like 200 other west coast fests they could play.
Ezra Koenig said something to the effect of VW were in talks to play in HAIM’s spot last year IIRC so that’s where that comes from.
And that he couldn’t get the band together in time to do it but he wanted to. So I imagine they just tabled the offer for a year, or at least that’s my guess
Everyone's talking about Haim but SZA was also a sub last year. I feel like she's even smaller.
I was gonna mention this. I feel like everyone a lot of people were predicting that she would be farther down on the 2nd line even some had her on the third and then once the lineup dropped people were3 surprised she was a sub. I think if Oxnard does well .Paak could be a sub.

SZA is one of the biggest rnb artists out right now, especially in the demographic that is stereotypical of Coachella. Ctrl has sold over a million copies and she has been a part of several hits.

She's bigger now then she was rumor season last year forsure.

I'm aware of who SZA is. No one considered her PreHL material prior to last years Coachella.

Based on this, I feel like it will have to do really well
Gimme Solange and Anderson .Paak as subs, fuck it.
I can see Solange for a few reasons now(was skeptical at first, and still am a bit, but here is why I can see it): 1)Sold 72k albums week one, more than Sza's 60k. But SZA has bigger hits. 2) I assume this album will make her more popular 3) GV will really be pushing for a female in the top 6 since no women headliner.
Lana Del Rey makes more sense imo, but who knows if she will play with Kanye headlining.
Paak is very talented, but shouldn't sub imo. Can't even find official sale numbers for Paak's albums and what I found for Malibu was so laughably low that I wasn't sure. He should be on 2nd line obviously. Maybe he can eventually headline, but shouldn't sub for now
Vampire Weekend or Arctic Monkeys to fulfill band spot
3rd spot can be a band(VM or AM works), electronic, or something random
