I've seen him before but I would greatly appreciate 3 stacks at Paak
I'd enjoy Q-tip, Kendrick again. The time I spend at this set will be determined by guests since I've seen him before and he plays where I live regularly.
there will be performances there? Or are you referring to Heineken?
I meant I'm an alcoholic and I would like to know what specifically I'm going to fuel my demon with. Really though, they had a special little section with rare beers the past couple years in the craft beer barn. KBS and other good stuff.
ooh sounds exciting. I’ll most likely visit there few times over the weekend as well

Didn't think about Q-tip, that would probably be better
Fri: Blondish/Ross From Friends/Tomasa del Real/Hurray for the Riff Raff/Turnstile/Mon Laferte/Kacey Musgraves/Anderson Paak/Blackpink/SOPHIE/Janelle Monáe/Charlotte Gainsbourg/Yves Tumor

Sun: Razorbumps/Cola Boyy/Rico Nasty/Pusha T/Lizzo/Nocturnal Sunshine/beginning of Gesaffelstein/Perfume/CHVRCHES/Ariana Grande
I've been waiting for them to do this, that is awesome.
And officially one in the Yuma.
How is this going to work, will they let you bring your beers out of the tent?
For the Yuma, they have a little fenced off area just outside the Yuma which you can only access from inside the tent. You have to finish your drink there before you can head back into the Yuma. I hope they add a small roped off section in the back of the Sonora so you can sip a beer and chill in the A/C.

I hope Pusha does a Clipse medley. Haven't gotten any more than Grindin' when I've seen him in the past. Would like Wamp Wamp, When The Last Time anything really. Won't happen but I have wishes. Would like Kaytranada to some sort of live show with guests that he's collaborated with or just play a straight DJ set like he did before he just played songs and danced in 2017.
OK I hate to be a cloud of negativity and this is a marginal thing because I am super, super, super excited for this year and have so much I want to see on the lineup that I personally don't need more acts (actually I need less, conflicts are brutal this year). But looking at the set times vs. 2013 really highlight how much GV is scaling back the lineup despite expanding grounds and capacity. For example, the Mojave is running 7 poster acts Fri, 8 poster acts Sat/Sun. Compared to 10-12 in 2013. The outdoor is shut for all headliners, whereas it was going for two headliners in 2013. That there alone is 8-10 acts in those two stages they could have added. Looking at 2018 FYF cancelled acts and Just Like Heaven, both booked by GV, that could have fit easily The Rapture reunion, Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Beach House or the rumored Thom Yorke (for the outdoor acts), My Bloody Valentine, Nils Frahm, Against All Logic, The Breeders, The Faint, etc.
And then the Sahara, same deal. It is really "rap-chella" now but once again under programmed compared to past years. Looking at 2013, they had 10 Sunday Sahara poster acts, we have 7 this year. That's room right there for very easily obtainable crowdpleasers for the Ultra/EDC/rave crowd (say, Tchami, ZHU, Dog Blood).
If GV is wondering where that disappearing demand was for W2, the FYF types and the ravers who wanted more EDM likely could have easily been swayed to come with the above additions would have probably solved that. I get that bigger names are necessary now and hardly hate it, I'm very excited to see Ariana Grande. But I do think it's pretty clear they are losing their FYF-centric fanbase and their raver fanbase (the Sahara is literally 50% rap Sat and Sun) to other fests by not programming for them as well, and I think we saw this year you can't count just on Top 40 fans.
Alright finally had some time to digest this. I despise that clusterfuck late Saturday with Tame, Parclels, Billie, and Aphex but besides that no complaints. Being realistic about what time we'll actually head into the fest, I'm probably looking at:
FRIDAY: Turnstile > Beach Fossils > Kacey Musgraves (partial) > Gorgon City (partial) > Anderson .Paak > The 1975 (partial) > Rufus Du Sol > Khruangbin (partial) > Charlotte Gainsbourg > Childish Gambino
SATURDAY: Shame > Antarctic > Mac Demarco (partial) > Bob Moses > Christine & The Queens > Weezer (partial) > Aphex Twin (partial) > Billie Eilish (partial) > Tame Impala > Kid Cudi
SUNDAY: Iceage > Pusha T > Lizzo > HYUKOH > Gesaffelstein (partial) > SOFI TUKKER > CHVRCHES > Cirez D > Ariana Grande (partial)
Nice little weekend assuming the times remain the same for Weekend 2.

Agree with TravelFan, this is the first year I've been really excited since I guess 2015.
I can't go Friday but Saturday Sunday is starting to look good. Here's what I'm thinking, let me know if you think I'm missing something.
Saturday
FKJ > DJ Seinfeld > Deep Dish > J Balvin > end of Four Tet to get a good spot for > Aphex Twin > Tame > Cudi
Sunday
Iceage > Pusha T > some of Bad Bunny > Charlotte de Witte > YG or Nocturnal Sunshine > Gesa > Jon Hopkins > Cirez D and if I get bored either Kaytra or Ariana.

Honestly the only conflict I'm devastated by is H.E.R vs CHVRCHES, but I'm leaning towards H.E.R because I've already seen CHVRCHES a couple times.
Overall, kind of fascinating how short some of these sets are this year? Feels like fewer and fewer acts each year are getting 50 and even 45 minute slots
Did anyone else notice that the set times say "Gates at noon" this year compared to 11am in years past? I don't really have any big conclusions from this, but just an interesting observation.

The BLACKPINK/Rosalía/Polo & Pan conflict broke my heart. They were among my top five acts that I wanted to see on Friday. The partial conflict of Janelle Monáe and Khruangbin hurts a bit less, but they were the other two acts in my top five. Luckily I can see Janelle and Rosalía at Osheaga. Saturday and Sunday were much more forgiving. It looks like my first Coachella is going to be a damn fun one.
