That coachella stream has got me really hyped to see that Portugal the Man show at Forest Hills.
I have a ticket to that but on the fence if I'll go. Seen them at T5, Capitol Theater and BK Steel all in the past 8 months and the set has been basically the same plus/minus a few songs from Woodstock. The only thing really motivating me is that they have Lucius opening.
I do wish they would dig into some of the older tunes they don't play as often. At least when I see them.
Nick Cave at Barclays has a GA floor after all. Floor ticket purchased!
Just wanted to add on that this ticket ended up costing $130 including fees and shipping (print-at-home was not an option), whereas I paid only $70 for GA floor at The Anthem in DC.
I understand that bigger venues are always more expensive, but NYC somehow manages to make everything exorbitantly priced. Like, WTF?
Now the venue is looking to not just be a summer venue, but a year-round venue, AM New York reports. They’re planning to have a “Winter Wonderland” with a skating rink, and Christmas tree and other holiday vendors. “We want to keep the place up and running year-round,” said Mike Luba, partner in Madison House Presents. “The ice skating rink will be for the community.” No word if there will be music during the winter season.
They’re also planning, for the first time in the venue’s 95-year history, to install bathrooms with plumbing when the 2018 season begins in June. (They’ve just had porta potties before this.) “We’ve been working on this since we started here,” said Luba. “Real bathrooms — it’s part of the quality of the experience.” The venue also revealed that they plan to introduce “gender-inclusive” bathrooms for the first time in their history.

Ooh, San Fermin outside on a summer night has my name written all over it.

Does anyone have any intel about the Paul Simon's last show on September 22nd? He's playing the Garden 20, 21, then his final show on the 22nd. Central Park makes the most sense but it's been well over a month since it was announced but venue TBA still.

Simon and Garfunkel are probably still trying to reconcile their differences in order to make that show happen.

I can see there being a Garfunkel appearance maybe.
I'm still amazed I got one. I was in the "waiting room" and was doing something else when I noticed it was my turn. Figured the few seconds I didn't notice would be crucial but still pulled one somehow.
Launchpad, you have any info on if they're adding a second Forest Hills show?

I originally heard they were doing two nights there. But they may have decided to do that show at CMAC instead.

Ah bummer. I may have a conflict for the July show and was hoping they'd add another night. Have a big gap before so could still possibly do another in the area.
