Given that NYC now has recommended indoor masking even for those vaccinated, what does this mean for shows at Brooklyn Steel that are supposedly starting in two weeks?

Can see venues either requiring vaccination and/or masks. Doubt they stop the shows unless forced by the city.

After attending the Bright Eyes show at Forest Hills last night, I don’t know if I’m going to another event where vaccination or negative test results aren’t required. It is SO HARD to relax and just enjoy myself, even outdoors.
Of course, my next ticketed event is Bonnaroo, so 🤷♂️
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

What was the mask ratio like?
Very low. My wife is pregnant, so we wore masks more or less throughout, but the overwhelming majority were unmasked.

It took a lot of back and forth but I did manage to score a pair for the Great Lawn. On the fence about going though, we'll see how I feel as it gets closer.

The Frames just canceled their show here on Spet. 21 due to "complications with international travel restrictions and visas have made it impossible for the entirety of the band to enter into the U.S. to perform." Although, Glen Hansard solo will still be doing Ohana Fest.

Killers apparently playing T5 before the Central PArk show. Seems odd to be announcing last minute indoor shows at this point but these last few weeks have been whiplash.

Now announced for August 19 - will need proof of vax AND (not or) a negative test 48 hours or less before the show.
EDIT: In on venue presale, still tix now (at 1:50pm Friday, because it was damn glitchy earlier), password is BOWERY. Already scoped out where to get a quick test on Wednesday.

Strange this didn’t sell out instantly but I guess the triple whammy of vax/mask/negative test might be deterring people. Either way, I think if you can find a CubeCare they do tests pretty quickly.

Actually, don't think that's it - like I said this presale was really glitchy, for the 30-45 minutes it DID say no more tix available, so people just went away - I went away too. Then I saw later on the Killers Reddit that the tix finally started coming up, so I tried then. Also, seems like hardly any one got an artist presale code, and the venue presale code wasn't actually posted by the venue...

I must have been one of the few lucky ones. Got both the artist and Bowery presale. The artist presale had a queue which I figured was going to turn up empty but after 2-3 min, got in and was able to purchase one. Be curious to see if people follow the mask suggestions.

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't at least get a Bowery Presents email, I am on their list, as well as The Killers (although I have always been on it, I was never a paid member). Looks like it's well sold out this morning though.
Most probably won't follow the masking suggestions but I'm OK with that with these other precautions. Make sure you test on Wednesday and not Tuesday, unless you do it after 7:30pm they are saying Tuesday will be too early for the 48 hour cut off. Just made a rapid test appt. Wednesday AM at CVS in Manhattan but I might end up doing it closer to home.

I'm going to Carecube for a PCR test which usually turns it around in a day though it does make me slightly worried if there is any issue. Is there a faster/acceptable test that I should also consider?

Not to dissuade you or anyone else from going to this but as someone who attended Global Citizen Fest in 2012 and 2015 (in the VIP section), the GA set-up for this is brutal unless you get their super early and stake out a spot. I also think they do NOT allow alcohol/liquor sales there (or at least they didn't for Global Citizen) so just a heads up there.
