10/13 New York, NY Radio City Music Hall 10/14 New York, NY Radio City Music Hall
Those are the same nights as Death Cab and Phil Collins.
Decisions, decisions.
Large gap around the NIN/Jesus Mary Chain dates which makes me think they'll add more (they're doing 4 nights in LA). This begs the question, how many shows do you fellow NYC-area Inforoo people go to a year? I was topping out at 120 between 2010-15 but have mellowed a bit in recent years (60-70) in an effort to live a more normal life.

NIN tix being sold in-person at box offices huh. That's really cool and a great way to kill half your day while people ahead of you decide where they wanna sit. Wonder how it's gonna work

Holy shit. Mellowing out for you is 60-70 shows? That's insane. I get to about 50, if that, and even then there are some I just say "Fuck it" to because I'm too lazy. Hats off

It depends if you qualify festival sets as individual shows, or not. If so, I'd say somewhere in the 80-100 range, as I'm very much about maximizing total sets seen in that environment. We've been stepping it up a lot the past year or so, though, because we start working on that whole having a kid thing later this year, so we're trying to get our jollies while the getting is good.

Is that 120 sets or shows?
120 shows as in actual events. For example, 3 days of Gov Ball would count as 3 shows (yes I was insane).

Yeah, used to be like 3-4/week. Now I've learned to start saying "no", especially for bands that play the area 4-5 times a cycle.

damn. respect. do you have a significant other that would roll with you, or did you do decent amount alone
My wife joins for the one's she's interested (or when she feels like humoring me) but I still go to a fair amount by myself which is totally fine with me. This run will likely end in a few years as we decide to do actual adult stuff like have a kid, get a bigger place, etc.

I know there probably aren't a ton of Phil Collins fans on this board but, holy shit, were tickets to his show at Barclays expensive. $650 for the floor. I snagged good upper-level seats for $166 each.
I always wonder how they make the decision to make some shows seated vs. standing. Is it as blatant as the promoter working with the act's manager and saying, essentially, "look the audience that is coming to this is OLD so we should have seats."

Everything with a * is old, so I think you are onto something.

most shows these days are seated floors regardless of the act. They can make a lot more money via VIP seats this way
Parquet Courts playing at Rough Trade this Thursday at noon. All ages, purchase their new album for entry. Pretty bummed it's a daytime thing, or else I'd be there. The title track for this record has been in pretty regular rotation lately

Also, some fanbases have been conditioned to prefer floor seating over general admission. Such as country, where people need to leave their spots a lot to go pee from all the drinking.
