Welp, just won Nathaniel Rateliff tickets for tomorrow! Can't complain about a free weekend of shows at Forest Hills
I'll be there. Listening to some Hiss and Rateliff to refresh now. Should be a great run of sets
Enjoy that show. If I wasn't on my one week sabbatical from live music, I'd be there but just need a break. Saw him play the Apollo in Mar and enjoyed it.

In preparation for the Nathaniel Rateliff show at Forest Hills I went on their website to read up a bit. I didn't realize that if you commute in on the LIRR and you present a round-trip ticket at Guest Services you may be able to get a FREE round-trip ticket for the whole LIRR. The website says "The first 100 people to do it" get a ticket but I think a lot of folks don't know about it and Guest Services is tricky to find (it's tucked in the corner of a strip of food vendors). I walked up after getting food just to see if it was still an actual thing and they gave me a free round-trip ticket after showing my receipt. Now the Portugal. The Man show in September already has my commute costs covered.
Long Island RailRoad. It's what I take to get from the middle of long island to Bk/the city (about an hour west of where I live). It basically goes from the Eastern most point of long island to Manhattan.
Forrest hills stadium happens to be conveniently located at one of the main stops before reaching the city. So just get off the train and you're there

Damnit. I got another email from Forest Hills offering 4 free tickets to Robert Plant on Wednesday, but I saw it too late and they gave out all the freebies. Just in case they give out free Alt J tickets I gotta watch my email like a hawk all week.

Same happened to me. Couldn't make it anyways and saw him in Feb but it was a nice little offer

How do you get on such an email list?
I honestly have no idea lol. It might be because I've purchased tickets for a Forest Hills show in the past. I've already gotten an email with free tickets for the Robert Plant show and the Belle & Sebastian show.

The email thanked me for attending their opening weekend. I won both pairs of tickets from third parties but i'm guessing somewhere in there I ended up on their mailing list?

That might be it. The only time I have been to Forest Hills has been when I won tix. Only show I have actually purchased tix to is the Jamiroquai show in the fall.

Btw, Robert Plant tickets are now only $9 on stubhub. That's with all the fees too.
Thats such a good deal for me, especially since I live 5 minutes away......but I still think I'm just gonna go to gym and watch netflix tomorrow night instead lol

I took that approach on Sat instead of going to Nathaniel Rateliff and now I'm kinda kicking myself for it. I think I have the opposite scenario where the Forest Hills trek is like an HOUR so I have to be really motivated to go out there.

Annoying for me where it's like a 15 minute uber ride away but I'm broke which makes it like a 45-60 min subway/bus ride.

Lol urgh I know that feeling. Are you in Brooklyn? I'm in Forest Hills, and it sucks when there's a show at Brooklyn Bowl or Music Hall.....it's either a 15 minute uber or an hour long subway ride.
We need more direct Queens to Brooklyn subway lines. The G is garbage and the rest take you through Manhattan.

I'm right on the Brooklyn/Queens border. What would be perfect is if the M train ran in a full circle. Connect the Metropolitan and Forest Hills stops

Does anyone know how it works selling tickets with Flash seats? I may have to get rid of one of my Arctic Monkeys tickets but I have no idea how to even access them.
