Has anyone ever attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony before? Some cheap resale tickets out there for Friday and was wondering if it is worth attending or if it is too drawn out of an evening overall
I have twice, and will be there again this year. It can be drawn out, but it depends on if the honorees drone on in their speeches (looking at you, E Street Band, lol). Last time I went it moved along pretty well but still a long evening. Plenty of opportunity for drink and bathroom runs. Now that it's being aired live on Disney Plus, they'll probably work to keep things moving.

My friend offered me their ticket this morning because her first trimester is killing her energy (she wasn't knocked up when she bought the tickets lol). I'm not a big Willie or Sheryl fan, but I love RATM, I'll always take an opportunity to see Brandi live, and like everyone is saying, Kate Bush could show up. Also: free.

If Kate shows up, I'm pretty sure she won't perform. Not impossible though! As it was the last time I went, the inductees I want to see the most this time don't appear to be performing 😛, but still it should be a good time.

I would never expect her to perform lol. I don't even expect her to be there!

I am looking forward to hearing "Cha-ka Khan, Cha-ka Khan..." done live, wonder if this is what Common's doing or if it will be some guy in Chaka Khan's usual band.
BTW, swung by the merch - t-shirts $35 but they have nice bags that they put the merch in. Also program ($30), water bottle, hoodie, and various vinyl releases of the nominees.

Guess this starts at 8pm given the broadcast starts then?
Asking as ticket time says 7:30
Doors are at 6 so I do think it will probably start at 7:30, they probably will do a less telegenenic induction or two first before the broadcast starts.

If anyone else was in the center balcony like me...those audience "searchlights" that kept going the ENTIRE CONCERT gave me a massive migraine by Missy's performance. I couldn't believe why they kept doing that shit all night.

I heard St. Vincent’s “Running Up That Hill” was very bad, which is a shame, because she’s usually awesome.
Also. Is that the only Kate Bush song anyone is allowed to perform, any more? She has SO MUCH good music, and all they could muster was that one, most obvious choice?

From what I read in Reddit, Kate wasn’t involved at all by her own choice. So of course they’ll pick the song that would get the most YouTube clicks.
I have seen St Vincent in concert four times, she is a great live performer but I wish it had worked out where Florence Welch or Annie Lennox (both offered but couldn’t do it for scheduling reasons) could’ve done it instead.

It didn't seem bad in real time but when I played back my video, yep it wasn't great. Sia during Chaka Khan and Miguel doing George Michael were hot messes.... Adam Levine, also during the George Michael segment, surprisingly did justice to Faith.
I was bummed that they didn't even attempt any musical tribute to RATM, but it's difficult to think of who'd they get who would actually do it. Was lovely to see this across the street from Barclays yesterday, it's probably a fan thanking them but it would be very Rage for the band to do this to thank us/RRHOF for the honor.

Right now it's the Citi presale so you need a Citi card for it. Artist code is supposed to be sent out tonight if you signed up for their mailing list. I just bought in Sec 332 (rain protection) and it was $161.75 all-in with a $124 base price.

Got it, thanks. Live Nation presale is Thur with the passcode BACKSTAGE if anybody needs.
Secured a GA Pit ticket for Green Day and completed my (expensive) tri-fecta of securing GA Pit tickets for that show as well as Foo Fighters and Blink 182. Oddly the Foo Fighters ticket was the cheapest.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Interesting, wonder what size venue it'll be. I imagine a 2k-capacity booked Live Nation venue that'll start off strong but then be hosting tribute bands in a year or so.
Hozier doing two nights at Forest Hills June 4 & 5, general sale November 17th. Alanis Morissette with Joan Jett & Morgan Wade at Jones Beach July 10 and PNC July 3

Out of curiosity, have events at Forest Hills ever utilized second or side stages on the West Side tennis club's other courts, and if not would it be logistically possible?
Damn...wish I could somehow make all 4 dates work. Love Bright eyes. Love the Mystic Valley Band. Love his collaborations and efforts to boost The Felice Brothers. Want to catch all the guests and backing bands lol
