Interesting only two so far and we're already almost at the end of July.
There was more earlier this summer. But nothing I was particularly interested in. Fishbone was fun tho. Kinda wanna see Black Belt Eagle Scout this Saturday.

Definitely looks like BRIC parted ways with their promoter partner (Bowery?) that got the paid shows in there, hence just that one paid show in June and now Afropunk in August. Probably one of the two parties wanted a bigger cut.

If I wasn't just getting home from a surgical procedure tomorrow I'd go for this, but I guess another time. Had to sell my ticket to Billy Joel's final residency show, which KILLED me to do, but at least it sold within five minutes of listing and I made enough to cover the ticket, possibly the Beck ticket if I need to eat it (it's a hard ticket, will see tomorrow if I can still go) and my insurance co-pay for tomorrow, lol.

I have 2 tickets to unload for Justice on Friday, if anyone is looking.
i’m very excited for this show but i’m also irrationally annoyed they made it a 10pm-3am event like every other navy yard thing when the rest of the tour is at normal venues and times
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
I guess they were selling door tickets at the Jamie show until at least 10:30 last night.
Is it going to be at 222 Bogart each night?
Not sure. I thought I saw somewhere that for one of the nights the tickets lasted longer which might mean a larger venue but I don't have any inside info.
this. in fact i’d go as far as to say that bk steel is an amazing venue, and t5 is an actively terrible one
This is true. But, you can have a good time at Terminal 5. The key is to get there very early and stake out a spot toward the front of the floor or on the rail of the second floor balcony. I did that for an LCD Soundsystem show last year and ended up enjoying myself far more than I had at any T5 show in, like, a decade.

mother's off the graham L stop is my go-to BK steel pregame; reasonably priced and good bar food. also perfect distance from venue for a road beer from a deli on your way
