Okay, so I was wondering if Prydz's EPIC show is concidered a novelty set or not because I don't want any bs when I pick another novelty act and get to this point where I lose that act because I didn't understand the rules. When I announced him, there were some questions if he was or not and I just want to be sure he isn't (or is idk). In the rules it's said that a novelty set is when a certain band/artist plays a record in full in celebration for a anniversairy of 5/10/15 etc years but he doesn't fall under that rule imo though the "and such" leaves some room for imagination and I wish that was a little bit more clear or something..? So, I just wanna be sure. The EPIC (and by extension HOLO) sets are him playing a normal set but the production is just higher than when he normally DJs. He's been touring and stepping up the EPIC shows yearly, so it's not like a one tour thing.

Sure they're rare but he's been stepping up the game for his show through out the years, so it's not like they're that special that it's a one time only thing where you only get one chance to see the show like when a band who does a tour because of an album that went 5/10/15 years old? He's done EPIC 1.0 till 4.0 over the past years, always trying to add and change stuff (which is something bands/artists all do btw) Idk how that's the same as described in the rules?

The way you describe it makes each ".0" sounds like an event which makes it sound like its not a standard set.
It is a standard set? It's not like he's performing the songs live or anything with instruments. He's still DJing, the difference is the production which is his own with these shows. That's like saying Deadmau5 performing with his massive cube is concidered novelty because he doesn't do much shows with the cube whilst the production is much higher than when he normally DJs except the mau5 doesn't specifically says or wants to be billed as "Deadmau5 LIVE" or "DJset" whilst Prydz is with his HOLO and EPIC shows. Because they differ from each other and his normal sets production wise. EPIC has this gigantic cube wall and HOLO makes gigantic holographical figures during his set.

Holograms sure seem like a novelty to me.
Then you’re being super loose with the term. Pet Shop Boys use “novelty” stuff like dancers, big production, etc but they aren’t a novelty act.

Do they bill it as a special show featuring dancers and big production or are they just being billed as Pet Shop Boys? To me, that's the difference. Obviously there is something special about the production otherwise there wouldn't be a need to make a distinction as to what type of show it is.
Nobody needs to convince me, though. I'm not voting in this because I neither know enough about the artist or the show nor do I care enough to vote. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
It was settled in the draft thread that any act doing anything special, even if it’s something they’re doing an entire tour of, is considered a special set.

But he's been doing his EPIC shows for the past few years, idk how that's concidered special at all? There have been several (yeah, rare I know) tours under the EPIC concept?

I don’t agree with the interpretation of the rule either but it was made pretty clear.
