Eep. Sounds like a lot of the same sightline issues I have with the Belasco. One of my friends at Haim last night said the sound was really scattershot throughout the night. I'm sure I'll end up there eventually but not super keen to check it out yet. Thanks for the report though, ameeps!
Pros: - It exists - You never have to wait to get a drink. There are an uncountable number of bars spread throughout the venue. Even at a sold out show, I never saw a line to get drinks, simply because there are so many bars/bartenders. They really figured out that more bars/bartenders = more drinks sold = more money.
Cons: - It seems like the minimum amount of money and effort was spent redesigning the space from whatever it was before to a concert venue. It's cold and soulless. - The sound is average at best - The sight-lines are truly atrocious. If you're on the floor, you better be at the very front. There are mediocre views from the back of the floor off the to the side, but there are copious large columns that exist solely to block your view (and hold up the balcony above, I guess). At the balcony level, the only way to get a decent view is to be on the balcony rail. The balcony is not sloped, and the angle to the stage is harsh, so even if you're 2nd or 3rd row balcony, you can't see a thing. - The drinks are expensive. - The drinks suck. - The food sucks. - Ticket prices are stupid
Hmm interesting. I saw Panda Bear & Sonic Boom at The Bellwether on Friday and thought the sound and sight lines were pretty exceptional, though I'm 6'3 and the show wasn't sold out so there was probably more room to maneuver into a good spot.
Agreed that drinks were stupidly expensive. I'll also add that parking in the area was quite the bitch since the adjacent lot filled up before we got there. I'll Uber or take metro and walk the next time I go.

After the adjacent $10 lot fills up, you can park right across the street at that massive apartment complex for $12 (cash only). They have infinite spots in there.

Important Update About Your Tickets The October 20–21 Snoop Dogg & Friends performances at the Hollywood Bowl have been canceled.
All tickets will be automatically refunded to the original payment method. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to be processed. For any questions, email Audience Services at information@laphil.org.
Does anyone know if YouTube Theater closed off the upper section(s) for Flaming Lips on Friday? It seemed the show wasn't selling well but when I checked for tickets this week it looks like only the lower and middle sections are open.

I'm wondering if MMJ/Fleexes at the Bowl gets bumped due to the tropical storm approaching late Sun into Mon. I don't have a ticket yet and I've seen shows in the rain there before, but this seems like more of a flooding and lightning event, which could be problematic.

honestly, I hope it's rescheduled. But knowing my luck it'll be a Tuesday night or something.

If theres lightning theyll call it off but since its just a ton of water theyll do it. I think if it ends up looking really dicey and they dont call it off you could get a steal on a good ticket. Karol G should be really grateful her 2 shows are tomorrow and Sat at the Rose Bowl.
Bowl still waiting on making the call. Dodgers game not happening now. Splash House moved indoors. Pappys cancelled their fest. Interstellar is postponed.

Maybe they’re waiting for the city to cancel it for them? Regardless, I’m not going if they still wanna do it on Sunday

Yeah, for sure. The Bowl is on city park land so they can make the call. That and Michael Franti at the Greek can both be moved to Monday if need be.
Signed up for both dates, but couldn’t find info on when these are going on sale. Did they announce it and I missed it?
Instructions show sign up period which ends on weds and also the notification period which is between next monday and tuesday. So with that, the sale is maybe thurs or friday next week. Maybe itll update when you cant register anymore.

If it’s anything like previous registrations like this, the tickets are non transferable and original purchaser must enter. But unlike Ticketmaster, there’s no fan to fan face value resale marketplace. So if you get tickets and then can’t go, fuck you unless you’re rich because there’s no way to sell them. They call this AXS Fair but it’s really AXS Unfair.

Yeah, it says tix non transferable on it. But that aint stopping the resellers on selling their logins.
