They couldn't sell out the Jai Paul Mayan shows today - both have about 600 tickets left - so they sent out invites to practically everybody who registered for a second round of sales that starts tomorrow. What a joke. The entire purpose of this AXS Fair non-transferable blah blah system is that the shows are such high demand that they need to deter scalpers, when in reality, these shows have so little demand they are struggling to sell them out.
They shouldve had these dates at the Fonda to start with and only announced one show. Couldve sold 90% of it in this pre sale and then let a couple hundred tickets out to normal people and gauged demand.
1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/4: knock2 3/7: Inhaler* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Kelly Lee Owens (DJ set) is opening for Underworld at the Shrine show
What time do we think the night is ending? Not against dipping early but wanna properly grieve how much show we’re gonna miss when we inevitably have to leave at like 10:50. Also, any opinions on KLO DJ sets?
After inviting literally everybody who entered to the Jai Paul LA sales since they couldn't sell the shows out in the first round of invitations, they have managed to sell approximately an incremental 50 tickets per show. Still ~550 tickets left per show.

Two words: Data Harvesting. AEG keeps doing this for shows that don't come close to selling out
Though I am surprised by the total lack of demand. Did literally everyone in the US who was interested in seeing Jai Paul live go to Coachella for him specifically?

Demand to see Jai Paul is clearly a lot smaller than he expected or many of us expected (myself included). The registration period was only like 2 days, I think a lot of people didn't register because they either didn't know about it in time, or didn't want to deal with the hassle. The AXS pre-registration system also forces you to pay a $1 charge, which they refund within 10 days, but I read a number of posts online of people bailing because they felt having to pay $1 to register was so weird. Plus, there's the non-transferable issue. What are you supposed to do if you can't go, just be out $150? All of these things compound to make these shows a flop.
If there was no pre-registration, and tickets were transferrable, I think both shows would have sold out already.

Also if $150 was the price of one ticket then YEESH that's a huge factor on its own, even without the non-transfer I could imagine people choosing to go to three or four other shows for that price instead

Apologies if that wasn't clear, it's not $150 per ticket, it's $150 for 2 tickets. But I imagine most people buy 2 tickets (you + a friend). So if a person who bought 2 tickets ends up not being able to go, not only is their +1 now completely unable to attend the show but you're both out $75 ($150 total). It's just so totally ludicrous. Say you bought tickets for you and a friend, you get sick or have a work emergency, now you and your friend are screwed out of the show and the money. I think non-transferable tickets are absolutely bullshit, and I wish they didn't exist at all (in New York, Colorado and Illinois it's illegal to have non transferable tickets). But, at least when Ticketmaster pulls this non-transferable bullshit, you can usually resell them on their face value resale platform, whereas here there is no option whatsoever to get your money back.

Kelly mostly does techno stuff. Its supposed to start at 8:30. So if Kelly gets an hour which Im sure is the case then Underworld wont go on til 10 I bet. Theyll easily do 2 hours, so youll barely hear 5 songs before you wanna leave. They kind of owe us anyway cause the last Underworld shows for Drift were gonna be extended sets, so maybe they try it here.
lol, i hope they drop the non-transferable thing and I can score a cheap ticket last minute
Doubt they will. But since theres zero indication that an id check will occur at the door you just gotta find somebody that will let you use the log in.
And yeah, Jai shouldve played The Fonda.
The Gv email for this week just has a Buy Now button for Jai but just takes you to the registration page. Im sure theyll just open it up.

never saw it. Shame. Well, theyre going to pay the price for it if those shows are 3/4 full. But at least they figured out maybe too strict is a bad thing or maybe a good thing. The fanbase has a handful of hardcore followers and then just casuals who think its interesting.
What a joke, Head Automatica at the Wiltern got shrunk down to the Echoplex. They shouldve never booked the Wiltern in the first place.
Looking to sell 2 tickets for Black Country, New Road at the Lodge Room tomorrow (9/2). $62.50 face value for the pair. Lodge Room doesn't send out tix, they just have your name on a list at the door, but they can change the name if you email them. DM me with a cell # if interested.
Just as I anticipated, all US Jai Paul shows are now available for general purchase, since none of them sold out during the multiple rounds of AXS (Un)Fair.
The weird thing is that all shows still claim to be non-transferable original purchaser must enter....but they're offering hard tickets via mail as a delivery option now which was not an option during the AXS (Un)Fair sale. Very strange.
They released what appears to be all the listening only obstructed view tickets to beyonce for tomorrow night. The worse thing is that there shouldve been $60 seats in there and they got turned into resale. And it sucks because they had put those up last minute. Now it just looks like theyre trying to get every dollar possible instead of just getting more people there at a lower price point.

I don't think there were $60 seats in there. The back of the 200s listening only is still there and it's $106 + fees. To your point though yes, they don't give a shit about the fans, they're just trying to maximize revenue.

: clears throat :
That same section for tomorrow has been released and is now official resale.
There were $62+fees listening tickets for Saturday and I think Friday. Looks like resellers were literally buying them and immediately flipping them.
It looked like there were some promising last minute deals on Friday so we drove up Saturday and kept refreshing Ticketmaster/StubHub/TickPick until 9pm or so when she hit the stage but no dice.

Those $62 listening ones for saturday popped up just after 8pm. Dont know how you missed em. I checked at that moment cause Dj Khaled had finished his set.
I dont think the resellers are jumping THAT fast on some of those seats either. Tm is releasing a batch then letting a few sell for a normal price then switches them to resale. For todays show its just worse because those seats wont dip in cost til the very last minute. At least on Friday there were plenty of blue dots and they just kept moving the price down. Now its opposite. Surprised no 400 level seats have popped up either. Seemed they were intent on filling the place up. But maybe they didnt want to add the extra staff.

You think Ticketmaster was literally re-selling their own tickets? Damn. I mean I'm not surprised, but...
And tbh I wasn't willing to pay even $76 for a "listening seat" lol.

Def happens. The Travis Scott at Sofi onsale had the legit back half of all the 500 level seats totally blank from the get go. Like not available. A few hours later there were tons of pink dots there. And you didnt have to stay in your seat btw. Theres ways around that to be able to watch the show. iykyk

yeah i know about moving around, it's just easier some times than others. they just dropped some $106 listening seats...if they drop any $62 seats for tonight i'm a bit tempted. i wonder how easy/hard it's been to just watch from the concessions areas, i.e. near the Olvera St booth, etc.

Not that tough if youre there early. And they only dropped standing room onlys last night for who knows how much. Cause they got marked up to $300.
Mitski at The Ace Sept 20. Fair axs sale again, but im sure this one will sell out on 2 seconds.

With all the things I've heard about Tiktok kids shout-singing so loudly they drown out Mitski at her recent shows and yelling things out like a comment section, what could possibly go wrong at an acoustic show?
