My buddy spent $1k for one ticket for Joni. And I don’t think dynamic pricing was involved. Ugly.
I know this is a totally different beast being in LA, but the Gorge was also impossible to get and resale ended up being pretty reasonable closer to the show. Hopefully I can find some alright seats for like $200 down the line

Right. when I finally got in I couldnt cart anything which just sucked. Doubt theres much left for tomorrow. I wont be shocked if they dont even add a date and ride off into the sunset on platinum/resale pricing. Saw Pool Circle for $2k. Joni fans think its weird that the queue was so big cause the show was announced yesterday. But we all know better.
Edit: ok. This is the price listing for the show. Brandi Carlile fan club is doing a lottery for tickets and this is what they sent to people. So they did some nasty dynamic pricing

Great show. Lots of banter and an impressively respectful crowd. They told everyone not to use their phones that much and people were ok with it. The bar next door was bumping the jams and it was coning through the walls which was funny. Then they all went i to how festivals would schedule them against a loud act and the sound bleed and stuff. This is their final show for a while so thats kinda cool. Another thing is that this was like the only Grammy adjacent show this week? I wonder why they didnt do those citi card shows at the palladium this year.

Fairly certain I know the Aug 7 act. I’m in the dark on the rest. The LA Phil operates outside of mainstream music industry circles since it’s an independent organization so their information is more siloed.
Laufey was the show I knew about. Not a big deal for this board but a huge deal to the young kids. Not surprisingly, the series with Laufey sold out fastest, even faster than the Saturday ones. Season is kind of weak IMO. Hope some of those TBA are good. I wouldn’t be surprised if Khruangbin is a Coachella radius clause TBA.

I also see the Theater at Ace Hotel is being renamed to the United Theater. The change doesn't surprise me since the hotel itself closed, but that is a very lame name.

It was originally the United Artists Theatre so this sounds like an homage to its heritage. A little less lame with that context.

The 2 tba's are def Coachella acts. Aug 11 can def most likely be Khru since it lines up. And Laufey also has a pre sale you have to register for to get tix to now anyway. Wonder if theyll even hold back tix for add ons.
