1) Once an artist or member of an act is drafted they are unavailable to anyone else however side-projects and solo artist from that act would still be eligible until separately drafted.
AFX is the most well known and most used alias of Aphex Twin under which he performs and releases acid techno.
From Wikipedia
Initially releasing acid techno music under aliases such as AFX and Polygon Window, James first received widespread acclaim for his 1992 debut album Selected Ambient Works 85-92.
After his 2001 album Drukqs, James entered a period of inactivity under his main alias, though he continued to issue recordings under other names, including the Analord series of EPs in 2005 as AFX and a pair of records in 2007 as The Tuss. He returned as Aphex Twin in 2014 with the new album Syro, which won him a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Other DJs/artists with side projects that already have been picked: - Richie Hawtin and Plastikman - Nicolas Jaar and Against All Logic & Darkside - Eric Prydz and Cirez D - etc
Those other artists have not been disputed. That doesn't set precedent. This one has.
I'm not the one that disputed this but I'll repeat my argument that a solo artist performing different music under a different name does not make them a different person. You cannot be a side project of yourself.
If anything, this wouldn't be a side project situation but an iteration or configuration situation. In this case Richard Davis James was already drafted in his Aphex Twin iteration so no other iterations of the same artist can be drafted.
14) If an artist performs both solo and with a set band, then when one is drafted all iterations are off the table. For example, if Prince is drafted then Prince and the Revolution is off the table. However if Neil Young is drafted then Neil Young & Crazy Horse is off the table but not Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
15) If an act has multiple lineup configurations, the one drafted should be identified when drafted. Other configurations would then be off the table. For example, if you were selecting Van Halen then you verified that you were choosing the iteration with Gary Cherone, the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar VH's would be off the table.
We already had this conversation once tho when Richie Hawtin and Plastikman were drafted and then it was fine, even tho you argumented the same thing you're saying now. If an artist plays other kinds of music than the music he plays under his main alias than it IS a side project imo. You're not gonna tell me that Cirez D isn't a side project of Eric Prydz even though that's still him. There are countless other examples of DJs.
I'm jealous of the pick because I didn't know AFX was a thing but with Plastikman and Against All Logic already being selected, it would be bullshit for us to shoot AFX down.

That makes no sense because DJs aren't bands. There is no other line up than themselves, it's a side project as mentioned in rule #1.
I litteraly just said the music he plays at those shows is acid techno which is different than Aphex Twin imo.
I've seen Aphex Twin and he played some acid techno.
I've seen Nicolas Jaar and he played some stuff that sounded similar to Against All Logic. So what? As someone who has AAL which is a damn near exact mirror of this situation, why do you think AFX is a no-go but AAL is fine?

AAL is a dj set of downtempo house/disco. Nicolas Jaar plays with live instruments, sings, and is all live electronics and only plays his own music.
Aphex Twin also literally plays AFX tracks in his own shows.
As if Plastikman never played tracks from Richie Hawtin or Eric Prydz from Cirez D or visa versa. There are countless examples.
Postjack has both of Plastikman and Richie Hawtin so that means nothing. I think you guys could have made an argument Prydz shouldn't be pickable but no one did.
AAL is very different than Nicolas Jaar, and that’s why I haven’t challenged it. But the distinction between Aphex Twin/AFX is non-existent. Sorry Bing, but it’s a no.

Who said it was fine. Just because it didn't get challenged doesn't mean it was a valid pick. I don't care enough about diluted DJ sets to poll it but I do think they're BS picks.

There are countless DJs with side projects. I think it's bs using Jaar, a musician who plays live and A.A.L. which is pretty much him doing a Djset as shield. Why I mentioned him first? Because I mentioned that A.A.L. is also a side project from one and the same person just like Aphex Twin and AFX, see my first post.
Why not come up with another example that really justifices it. I've mentioned Prydz & Cirez D and Richie Hawtin & Plastikman as examples which are just as similar in their case as Aphex Twn and AFX.

I think these cases should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with some input from those who regularly post in Bleep-Bloop thread if possible. Plastikman/RH example is void as postjack has them both. I haven’t done research for Prydz example, so I don’t know.
He is best known for his influential and idiosyncratic work in styles such as ambient techno and IDM during the 1990s, and is among the most critically acclaimed figures in contemporary electronic music.

James entered a period of inactivity under his main alias, though he continued to issue recordings under other names, including the Analord series of EPs in 2005 as AFX
In 1991, James and Wilson-Claridge founded Rephlex Records to promote "innovation in the dynamics of Acid – a much-loved and misunderstood genre of house music forgotten by some and indeed new to others, especially in Britain". From 1991 to 1993 James released two Analogue Bubblebath EPs (one without a band name on it, one as AFX) and an EP, Bradley's Beat, as Bradley Strider. After leaving the polytechnic, James remained in London, releasing albums and EPs on Warp Records and other labels under a number of aliases (including AFX, Polygon Window and Power-Pill); several of his tracks, released under aliases including Blue Calx and The Dice Man, appeared on compilations.

Prydz and Cirez D are clearly different genres though, which is why I didn't challenge.
Not sure if Aphex Twin and AFX are different enough genre wise to consider them both draftable. But I'm biased.

Yeah but they do play each others music, no? Which was also an argument being made.
