Nick Cave will be at the Moody Theater on October 6th. I wonder if the festival tried to book them! They'd have been an incredible opener for The Cure..
I’m gonna buy tickets tonight. I’m not 100% if I can make this work but would I be able to make my money back (or at least close) if I were to sell them?
E: and by “money back” I mean within $20 either way
Which weekend btw
Just checked and W1 is too close to midterms so most likely weekend 2.

I couldn't go in 15 or 16 and was able to find someone on this forum to pay face and shipping to get them at the initial costs. They were always weekend 1 though. It won't be tough to unload for near face as this will probably sell out both weekends, but you're likely better off with weekend 1 than 2.
I'm leaning hard towards the first weekend, though I hate to miss Robyn. I usually like to attend the first weekend of these events anyhow. What weekend is everyone else looking to attend?

Weekend 2 for me. Weyes Blood is the only W1-exclusive act I'm really sad about missing, and I'd still much rather miss her than miss Robyn.
Also I didn't bring this up earlier, but when was the last time ACL had this little amount of overlap with Lolla? Usually it shares 3 or 4 headliners. This time it's only two, one of whom is only playing because he canceled last year, and Kacey is the only overlapping sub. Not complaining, this absolutely kicks the crap out of the Lolla lineup.

Optimism checking in...I feel like Live Nation is kind of figuring their shit out? Between their big 3 they haven't really shared 1s or 2s in a while. Chicago/Austin/Nashville are all also pretty different demos and I feel the lineups reflect that (jam/country at roo, more pop/Perry's acts for lolla, country/gospel at ACL).

I’m torn. I would choose weekend two to just to be able to see Robyn, but I expect she will be up against either the Cure or Guns n’ Roses? Making that a painful decision to have. If I could be convinced she wouldn’t conflict with either of those (please convince me) I’d be in for weekend 2. Aside from Robyn, though, I prefer the weekend one exclusives.
Tbh I'm kind of expecting Billie to take Cardi's slot Weekend 2, and for Robyn to slide into Billie's weekend 1 slot. In that event, Robyn won't be against either of those.

Anybody working on a mock schedule for this? Or, waiting on the day-by-day to be released? I really really don't want Robyn and the Cure to conflict. Give me those two headliners and either of Tame or Gambino, and I'll be happy.

Is it easy to split headlining sets are a pain in the ass? Really wanting to see GnR, Tame, Gambino, The Cure and even Mumford because my fiancé loves them but ideally since we just say Mumford in March i think i could y’all her out of them if need be lol.

The stages aren't too far from each other. You can get between them in a few minutes. It's not like Lolla where they're like a mile apart.
I just want to be able to see gnr/ the cure / tame. If I can do that I’m happy. They’re the only headliners I really care about ( seen gambino before and am seeing him at roo)
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

ok awesome to know i just saw Gambino in Nashville back in December he’s one of my favorite artist but don’t mind splitting his act to see an act I’ve never seen and will be good legacy acts to knock off the list like GnR and The Cure. Tame i’ve still never got to see and have really been looking forward to a fest set from them.
im preparing for this. I'd really hate to pass up either GnR or Tame but GnR will probably only do these two ACL shows then never come to Austin again whereas Tame will be back for a proper venue gig probably toward the end of this tour, and are easy to catch in other cities. If The Raconteurs are the hour before on the same stage, then getting a close spot at a Guns N Roses show would be worth, like $250 value at worst. Plus it'll be a kickass show.

Remembering that when I saw GnR on their reunion tour they played, like, a lot of Chinese Democracy. Four songs. Hopefully that won't be the case at a festival.
Also, hopefully they do My Michelle, because they did not at that gig. Might be tough to sing, idk.
