May just be their latest in a string of bad decisions...
I think it could be a great decision. We will see. If they turn it into a smaller version of Peach festival without the hills I'm on board. If there's no camping or if the whole festival is at the amphitheater (no other stages), I'm out.
I’m hearing the festival is moving from multiple people. This is troubling. Can anyone confirm this with facts and not rumors?
The Country Festival is the weekend before the Jam, and they have announced some of there acts. Jam uses the same setup for the next week, this isn't moving. Not this year anyway.

You’ve heard this? Or you’re assuming?
Country Festival is posted, and that's what they have been doing, Country festival 1st, the next weekend Mountain Jam. If they were going to change the Jam location, don't you think they would change the Country Festival location also ? Since they use the same setup, I think it's safe to say it's not moving this year.

I think the assumption is that they sold mountain jam, not taste of country. You can tell this because the Website for TOC is the same as previous years.
I don’t know anything for sure, but for it to be wrong, several people who have always been right would have to all be wrong.

if this ends up at bethel - where there will likely be no camping - i'm out. The location is too far from both my home and my summer home to drive in each day -- and from i remember there are not a whole ton of hotels around that area, unless it has totally changed since i've last been there. i'd be cool with them moving this to the site of the 92 woodstock over in Saugerties. I just wish they would give us something more than just teasers.
I'd also probably be out if this swings heavily back into only jam band territory. I really liked a good mix of both (I may be in the minority) but if i wanted heavy jam i would go to Peach - i liked this for being a good middle ground. hopefully we'll get something this week.

For what it's worth, I've heard there will be camping even if it's at Bethel.
I can't imagine it being full jam. I'm hoping for something like the 2013 lineup.

Sea. Hear. now. Just announced their headliners. DMB and the Lumineers. If Mountain Jam doesn’t pull their head out of their ass soon we are going to that festival
Looks like Live Nation now owns Mountain Jam, so no more inside scoops from Roger, I’m guessing?
I think he just got them from the radio ads?
Still hoping for a lineup by the end of next week. But heck, they just ANNOUNCED a new festival at the Gorge in Washington State for Memorial Day weekend...so who knows when that lineup will even come out (if they have it this year even).

Right. I believe he worked at a radio station owned by Townsquare media. Now that Tiensquare no longer owns it, no more inside scoops from him.
This year’s turn of events really saddens me. We loved Mountain Jam despite line up changes and loved Hunter Mountain. I’m giving them until next week and if they can’t show some sort of life, I’m going to Sea. Hear. now

Yeah if this is now owned by Live Nation, I'm out of luck. It used to be run by Townsquare Media, which is the company that owns my radio station. Sorry y'all!

I check this board about 6 times s day just hoping for news.
On a different note has anyone tried disc jam festival? And if so, your thoughts?
Here’s my deal. I promised my twin daughters (19) that’d I take them to MJ this year as a Christmas gift. Now MJ is in a state of flux and uncertainty. We really wanna bring them to a good campout festival. Right now Peach Festival (no car camping) and disc jam festival are options.

Disc Jam all the way! I've gone the past few years and it's a blast every time. Smaller fest, great group of people, and non-stop jamming for four days. And Disc Golf! There are several camping options, and even if you don't choose car camping you shouldn't be more than a five minute walk to your vehicle. It's mostly jam and funk bands with the occasional electro-jazz and ska band. There's also a sick EDM stage hidden in the woods. They also have the 'flow tribe' that does fire/light dancing and more. Any other questions, just ask.

Peach Fest is the most like old school MJ. I’m not a fan of the venue but they put on a good show for a low price.
On a sadder note, there are people on the FB page saying that the location hasn't been finalized and the promoters for MJ have dropped out. I know that might mean nothing, but combined with the fact they haven't said a word since the 'Back to the Jam' ads nearly two months ago, it's not looking good. Fingers crossed tho...

Random peeps on Facebook don’t know a damned thing. Keep the faith.

I have no info on the current state of this. A long time ago, I was told Live Nation was taking over. If that was the case, they would be booking/promoting this themselves like they do Peach (with similar people involved). There may be some firms working on promo etc but there wouldn't be a promoter to drop out unless LN scrapped the whole thing which would not be beneficial to them.
