I think you can't base opinions solely on stats but also watching them play. If you watch them both play and think Wade is better, that's one thing. However, there are a lot of important things in basketball besides those stats you mentioned.

Steals are an awful measure of defense when presented as the only measure of defense. In conjunction with other states, it can be a useful tool.
Fun Fact about steals: Chris Paul is the only player in modern NBA history to finish a full season in which he played at least half of his teams games with more steals than turnovers.

Subjective awards awarded by people who cover the nba as their literal jobs. Wade is a the best shot blocking SG of all time, but Kobe is the better overall defender and it's not that close (12 vs 3 all nba D).
Kobe averaged 25ppg over 20 years, while Wade averaged 22 over 15. Arguing Wade is a better scorer than Kobe is foolish without even considering stats. Kobe is just clearly better there.
You can make stats say whatever you want them to. I go more by what I see. I did watch Kobe a lot more, because I haven't watched much at all since the big 3 got together in Miami.
