That slot would be rough for Charlotte Gainsbourg. Playing in the States, against parts of .Paak and Janelle Monae (plus the other stages all going)...she would draw poorly in that slot. Although that slot does seem likely for some sort of guitar/band fodder, I doubt it's her.
We should also strongly consider the possibility that Nina Kraviz is the Mojave house/techno act instead of Nora En Pure. I'd probably make a three way trade of Nina/Nora/Walker & Royce (although W&R would be way earlier in the Yuma)
Ooof yeah that would blow if she conflicted with .Paak and most of Janelle. Maybe we can switch her for where Yves Tumor is right now. Looking at last year's Panorama's set times, I noticed GV had her at 5:45 (I believe the set was ultimately cancelled due to the weather issues), so I can actually see her slotted in a tent in the 6-7 timeframe too.
Damn I had Snake on Main but now you guys are me think he can play Sahara as well
Was his stage really that packed in 2017? I had space to move around, pretty close too the stage as well. Sahara was overpacked for Garrix. I tried to go but was so far outside the tent with 0 space to even move, literally stepping on others so I went to Snake
Snake's crowd went past the cement walkway divider that separates the Outdoor side of the field from the other. It was actually crazy and I really wouldn't be surprised if it was the biggest Outdoor crowd of the weekend, as the only possible contender would have been Jack U.
Huh guess I didn’t realize, I was there just chilling before he started. On a side note, thanks for still doing these

I don’t think Charlotte and Janelle will conflict. I agree the previous poster that she will likely start as the sun is going down in either the Gobi or Mojave.
I’d be very surprised if Snake got the 4th billing on the Main. If he’s on the Main then IMO he’s slotted into the third to last spot, which would likely make the 1975 the Outdoor closer. We could always move Paak to the fourth spot on the main if we wanted to do things that way, but I still say BLACKPINK grabs that spot.
In the past four years the Main has had the first three artists billed for the day go 3,2,1 eight out of twelve times. They deviated twice from that format in 2017, once in 2016, and once in 2015. In all but one of those cases the third billed act closed the Outdoor. Additionally, in all but one of those cases the fourth billed act played 3rd to last on the main. So there is some precedent that the fourth billed act can play 3rd to last on the main, even tho 66% of the time the main bill goes 3,2,1. So if you want to move Snake to the main move him to the third spot and drop the 1975 to the outdoor closer. Anything else is likely going to be way off.
It's clear none of us are changing our minds on this but part of the reason Snake's crowd was ginormous is that there was nothing against him. The crowd was huge because people left Garrix 10 minutes early or piled up at the back of the crowd once Garrix was let out. But the main stage was absolutely silent for the entirety of his set. The options were effectively DJ Snake or Majid Jordan or nothing (I'm exaggerating a little but there you go). I chose drinking.
If it was like DJ Snake vs Janelle Monae vs Rufus on the other hand.....Janelle splits the hip-hop side of Snake and Rufus splits the electronic....
Sure, if maybe if it was, but it currently isn't. Furthermore that seems like even MORE of a reason to leave him on the Main, so that he DOESN'T conflict with Janelle, Rufus, or Childish. Right now it's Snake vs Lake (lol) and in that situation, Snake would obviously have a massive crowd, even though Lake will still pull a decent amount of people.

Yeah, honestly the only reason I know is because my group was near the Outdoor bathrooms after Bon Iver, and we were walking away when I heard him say that he was bringing out Lauyren Hill, and I freaked out and made my group sprint toward the Outdoor. We didn't make it very far, as the crowd was as massive as I said, but that was seriously one of my most memorable moments on the fields, just because it was so unexpected.
And sure thing. It's really not as much work as people think it is. The real annoying stuff comes when we get to work on the templates, which reminds me, I'm going to start later this week.

Yep, I hadn't even read your comment yet, but I just switched her with Yves. I don't really like where we currently have Yves, but I also don't have a serious problem with it either.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rufus has a larger crowd than Snake this year.
No way. Don't get me wrong, Rufus will have a MASSIVE Outdoor crowd, easily one of the biggest non-mainstage crowds of the weekend, but Snake will certainly outdraw them

Ehh, I'm going. I realized that, while there's nothing I'm SUPER excited for like previous years, there are enough redeeming qualities to it. Plus I know the FOMO would just be too strong.

So I’m confused, do we have one day of any year that’s ever booked the main 4,3,2,1 as you have it right now? I don’t think we do. I’m not arguing that you can’t have Snake on the main, but we should probably try and best map these times using the basic format seen in previous years, or do it at least until we get some whiff of a confirmation and grossly misinterpret it like we usually do. Put Snake in the third spot if you want him on the main, but move the 1975 for the Outdoor closer. If Snake gets billed fourth on the main I’ll literally buy you a drink for every day of the fest.

Out of all of the unprecedented set time scheduling that has happened over the past few years, this has to be the least egregious. I mean, hell, the #4 listed Jamiroquai played the damn Mojave last year. The Main going 1, 2, 3, 4 is hardly crazier than when we found out that Axwell^Ingrosso would be closing the Outdoor. We lost our absolute minds when we found that out, but today we would assume that's where they would be right off the bat.
What I'm saying is, trends, while important to look at, shouldn't be seen as law.
2011 Saturday is the only day I can remember where it went 4 --> 3 --> 2 --> 1 but Bright Eyes and DJ Snake are totally different animals, and 2011 is practically the prehistoric era of Coachella at this point when it comes to using that to predict 2019's set times. I agree with Gibson and add that to yet another reason why I think Snake on main is highly unlikely.

Snake can totally be on the Main. But for real you have damn near 92% of the time where the main goes 3,2,1 or 4,2,1, with 3 closing the Outdoor the past four years. If we are going to trend analysis we should only go back to 2013 with the addition of the modern Sahara. Going back before that seems silly.

I may be in the same boat, still have tons of acts I would like to see. The set times will matter a lot honestly, wish they would just release them earlier like others do. Looking into bonaroo, if its cool I would consider flying out

Yep, Weekend 1 over here. I'm supposed to be getting one from someone on the boards here. I don't want to risk waiting, as last year the prices skyrocketed in the weeks/days leading up to the festival.

Sorry the accountant in me is coming out.
No, I hear you. And I could be totally wrong here, but I just don't think that's something Tollet consciously takes into account while making the schedule. Of course it wont be HORRIBLY shocking or anything even close to that if Snake winds up in the new Sahara, or honestly even back on the Outdoor (maybe HE'S the one getting the Sunset Outdoor slot lol), but to me, Main makes the most sense.
And like I said before, I'm definitely willing to make a bet (even though a lot of you are Weekend 2) that Snake is NOT in the Sahara this year.

LOL this is one year I don't think you need to worry about resale. But I hear you.
