Who knows if this thing is still happening in october, but out of curiosity, what is the easiest way to get to a hotel in palm springs from LAX? I was going to just fly into palm springs but paying $600 extra is pretty dumb. Ubers may bring the price up to be pretty close to that so idk if theres a bus or something I could take. I do have a shuttle pass.

Coachella does an airport shuttle from LAX to the Palm Springs area. Or rent a car.

Depends how many people you’re going with if any but if you’re going with 3+ more, renting a car is the cheapest option I’ve found.

Yeah Im gonna take the stance that this is not going to occur this year, and most likely 2021 will be in the fall as well.

Why would this be in the fall of 2021 if it gets cancelled this year? You think we are going to be staying at home for over 1.5 years?

Tbh there’s a big difference between having to stay at home and gathering around 100,000 people. No idea what the world will be like in a year but it’s at least possible we’re still somewhere between those two points.

China is the furthest along in this and they had started to re-open movie theatres and businesses, which was a very promising sign. But 4 days ago they made the move to shut back down the theatres. They're clearly worried about it re-emerging. It's increasingly difficult for me to see this happening in October without some sort of treatment being developed in the next couple of months (not vaccine, which is a year-plus away), especially given how much of the country is dragging their feet.

Riverside County is now restricting all short term rentals, so I’m finally getting my 10k back for the vacation rental!!! Now I’m going to enjoy dragging these guys through the mud for being assholes. Hope they like getting audited! I’ll be doing everything I can with my CPA to try and ensure they are audited next year. Already got them to lose their Super Host ranking on Airbnb because they solicited us to go off site and rent through their website to avoid paying fees and potentially taxes (which is what I’m trying to get them audited over) Any other suggestion on how to legally kick a person while they’re down? I’m all ears at this point.

Ohh I put myself in his shoes. Which is why I asked the rental to be moved to October, and then said if you can’t rent the April date out to another group on short notice then we would pay for it at the non event price. So essentially we’d book it two weekends. Once for 10k (event pricing) and then again for 2.5k non event pricing. He told me to fuck myself, and it would be another 10k for October in addition to not giving the money back for April. So now he gets to deal with the consequences of being an asshole.

So did you not cancel, and now they have to cancel which is why you’re getting a refund? I took a 50% refund on a place but would love to get the other 50% back if possible...

First we tried to move weekends, and they said no. Then we offered the two weekend deal mentioned above and they countered by telling us to pay another 10k, and let them rebook the house for April. Basically saying if they were able to rebook the house in April then they would refund us for the amount they could get it rented for. This was laughable because we offered $2,500 already for the April booking while things were deteriorating all around us, and basically told them nobody is going to pay you over $2,500 during a pandemic. Hence we were likely going to get stuck with 20k in rentals, if we wanted the house in October too. They said that’s not our problem, and so we told them that we are requesting the April reservation be cancelled and we will be disputing the charge via Amex. They basically said bring it on because they were keeping the 10k regardless. So the Riverside announcement was a sigh of relief for us as it forced their hand, and made this a straight forward 100% refund situation.
Hi so I got a response from my friend who told me Lana, Tool, Travis
He said that nothing has changed. He told me the one he is least confident about is Lana.
His words
“She could be an act drafted in to replace someone else as she wasn’t adamant on headlining when they approached her”.
Also hearing that Travis has European festivals (supposedly) lined up for Summer 2020 it looks like Tool and Travis are correct.
I asked him who Lana could potentially be a back up for and he wouldn’t say anything. From what it sounds like, she’s not fully booked yet but the other two are. Travis has been booked for a long time.
Surprised The Alchemist wasn't on this line up, he's had maybe the strongest past year in hip hop, like 4-5 projects all really good. Maybe a Heineken tent booking?
I’ve been surprisingly enjoying all of Calvin Harris’s Love Regenerator live streams. If his Coachella set (if it happens) is anything like these, I’d be there in a heartbeat.

My guess is that his set would be at least 50% Love Regenerator with his hits being mixed in.
