I don’t wanna say too much but I’ve heard that Tool info was duff. Third headliner is band and the way it was worded to me sounded a lot like Coldplay.

Just get it out of the way right now and retract this post like last time.
Stagecoach line up is out. Can we get zz top other than the obvious lol nas x crossover? And whoever said Orville Peck isnt “country enough” can suck it, theyre on the poster
Im not a big country fan but arent those pretty weak headliners for Stagecoach?
I don’t think it’s any smaller than Luke Bryan/Sam Hunt/Jason Aldean, especially considering how popular Carrie Underwood is.
Is she that popular? Feel like shes been doing these arena shows that dont even come close to selling out the past couple of years. Maybe thats just her pricing strategy but I didnt get the feel that she was bigger than Luke Bryan or Jason Aldean

Stagecoach has a really limited headliner pool because country music doesn't print new headliner level artists who warrant a "promotion" as often as Coachella. They usually have 1 non-repeat a year, and usually whoever is a "new" headliner has been headliner-level for a while. I mean Luke Bryan and Eric Church have headlined 3 times since 2014. Jason Aldean and Carrie x2. Sam Hunt was a promotion headliner last year, and he only played tracks off his 2014 album with literally no new material, just returned to headline for no reason at all, which shows how few options there are.
Frankly I have no idea if this year is "weak" or not, but the intense critique of the headliners that we put Coachella through obviously doesn't apply. It's a massively different audience too. 2/3 headliners have headlined before so, is that weak? Do people complain about the repeats?

Have we ever had more than one stagecoach crossover? I don't think we've had any at all since 2016, and now people think we might have multiple? Seems...unlikely, but who knows.
I really hope Orville Peck is at Coachella though, and still think Lil Nas X would be a waste of a booking, but I acknowledge the reverse is more likely. I also cannot imagine Lil Nas X will be a "PR disaster" based on the people I know who attend Stagecoach. It's not like this is held in Alabama or something.
He’s a gay black dude performing for an audience that’s mostly conservative, what did you expect?
Is the Stagecoach crowd even capable of handling this? Seems like a potential PR disaster.
Theyve had Nelly and Snoop pop up with Florida Georgia Line, they’ll be fine. He wont be on the Mane stage. Shove into the tent and whoever wants to see him will go, the rest will sit on their asses in the sun as they usually do.

Par for the course. Stagecoach just cant get their holy grails booked so they gotta settle. No Dolly or Dixies yet again. And the Dixies will bring the biggest PR shitstorm you could ask for, so thinking Lil Nas is an issue just cause he is black and gay is nothing compared to calling George Bush out for his war crimes. Kacey Musgraves will headline whenever she releases another album, so thats the next new act to get a headline slot. Maybe they do get Taylor Swift next year if she is going to stick with doing festivals for this album.

The same couple of country artists sell out massive venues every single year in Missouri. I would say the fans don't really care about repeats. Most people I know just get belligerent beforehand and usually don't remember much of the show.

Yeah that totally tracks. My GF used to attend before I converted her to a Coachella nerd and she basically just got drunk at camp and went to the headliner. I feel like that's how most of the crowd does it, so stands to reason they don't really care about repeats if they are big names.
Kacey headlining with new record makes a ton of sense. I'd be stunned if Taylor ever plays Stagecoach again. Stylistically, her tour is 0% country and she seems pretty adverse to returning to those days. She even said in a recent interview that the only reason she's speaking out politically now vs years ago is that she saw what happened to the Dixie Chicks and didn't want her career shattered by the country music establishment. Now that she's not a part of that environment, she's free to speak her mind, so why return?
