As I've said before. Give me a double vodka soda with lime, lemon, or whatever natural fruit flavoring garnish over a seltzer any day. Or really just give me gin. Everyone should drink more gin.
2019 was the year of killer anti-capitalist films between parasite, us, ready or not, knives out and hustlers.
Woohow anti-capitalism. Meanwhile, Disney made The Lion King, Dumbo, Alladin, Toy Story 4, Frozen II, Captain Marvel, Endgame, Far From Home and another fucking Star Wars film. Yeah, it was great.
I got through the first 2 hours of Irishman before falling asleep so I'm gonna count that as watched
Quite sad that the length of the film is handed as a critique when people just jizz over Endgame like it's the best film ever made when it's close to the same length. I guess there's not enough bang! bang! and explosions and to much talk talk for it to be good.

also over the last decade ive gotten attached to those characters/actors, on the opposite hand every year i like DeNiro and his schtick less.
I need to see Climax. High Life was fine, but nothing amazing. I read good things about Ad Astra, as well.
Climax is ride for sure. Probably won't watch again unless in a theater though.
I'm a big fan of Claire Denis so I knew what I was getting into with High Life. I know a lot of people were quite disappointed but I really loved it.
Ad Astra was a bit disappointing for me. In part due to the terrible voiceover. Still in my top half of the year, think I've got it somewhere in the 30s.

Climax was the business. I was totally into it. I think it's still on Prime if anyone wants to check it out without spending extra cash.

I like a movie to be good and not one that is made to garner (?) as much money as it can possibly get. The movies listed above are prime examples of that. Fuck that.
the backlash to High Life from all the people who expected Interstellar 2.0 was way too funny. amazing movie
High Life and Uncut Gems are my top 2 narrative films. 2019 was great for documentaries with: American Factory One Child Nation For Sama Diago Maredona The Edge of Democracy The Biggest Little Farm Apollo 11 They Shall Not Grow Old Honeyland, just to name a few.
Also I highly doubt I can pull this off but my plan is to go dark until about 10am EST tomorrow then toss on the official Bonnaroo playlist and reveal the lineup to myself by listening throughout the day.
Love what Best Kept Secret did and hope to replicate that.
I love this idea but I'm certain I dont have the discipline necessary
