Haven't encountered much spicy food in Spain. Even stuff that is designated as hot hasn't been really.
chulo bar (nepalese) was great yesterday. Asked if they had bhatmas that wasn't on the menu, dude laughed, and brought over the other menu. Had some major heat. Great Momo's as well but the side sauce was tame

I ordered a burger called Infierno (Hell) at Goiko Grill with three chilis next to it on the menu and it legit wasn't spicy at all. Accidentally went there both times I've been here cuz there's one by the Viladecans hotel. It's fine.
Congrats to a tortilla place from KC dominating the bakery category. Their little shop is so cool and tasty
Anyone else ever eat at any of the nominees?
I've been to Angelo Brocato's. I don't get how it's on the list since it's not a top level bakery in New Orleans. it's not even a traditional bakery. It's more like going to a St. Joseph's Altar and getting dessert. They go back to 1905 and are great for things like Canolis, Spumoni, Italian Ice and other Sicilian treats. But as a bakery, I don't think it's Top 10 in the city even. I look at a bakery more as a place to get fresh and interesting breads and cakes. This is completely different. I could see it win something in a heritage category. But it's a question mark to me how they are even considered for a best bakery James Beard.
I've been to Cora Cora (best restaurant nominee) a few times and as recently as a few weeks ago. I do like it, but I don't think it's James Beard level. I have only had a few items though. It's funny though because West Hartford is quite a restaurant mecca and I rarely hear people talking about this place. It's not the best location though, so it could be that.
There are two best chef NE nominees in CT as well. Never heard of either restaurant, but again, WH is a mecca, so I don't often travel for restaurants.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Aw precious those are cut beets (ya just out of the Goya can but they are rugged and also, that consistency is better than firm beets or I would need to put the beets in first).... BUT if I were to add pepper they would be the yellow type sliced into lines

I quit getting Goya products because of their MAGott CEO. But I think they might have ditched him?

They are not going to fire Robert Unanue. I make these choices usually out of massive selling control they have in my area (OR I could walk a mile back and forth continuing to go to the grocery - which yes COVID made me stop doing). The other choices are also mid as fuck, from me trying to cook them - they have cornered a market. I don't relish in my decision to not BDS them, but ... I've already had that fight and it wasn't a winning one.

I hear you. We gotta eat and sometimes the choices between brands are limited. There's a good Latin market near where I am which has alternatives for some of the Goya products, but not all of them. Ideal has an awesome produce section and the best pepper selection in the city - lots of scary looking shit and everything also available in Red.

American Chinese restaurants all label things as hot & spicy that don't seem hot, just a little spicy. Maybe I've just built up a big tolerance but typical Chinese dishes here rarely bring any heat.

Depending on the city, if you just give them the .. "I mean actually spicy" - they will blast your face off

Gonna bring some hot sauces to Roo and brunch also. Three Mountains yellow sriracha, Secret Aardvark habanero, Mellow Habanero "Heaven" from Ta-nm (this one is fun, might have to sneak it in since its glass), Zesti habanero garlic ranch, and whatever else I have rolling around!

26.75% for me. fruit was my highest by a decent bit then hygiene. I don't think brown spots on bananas or apples are disgusting, I just think it tastes bad so I don't eat it. Which may be the same thing? idk.

Mine is 33.75 and my trigger is mold. But I don’t really care about mold on cheese. I’ll at least try molded fancy ass cheese. Just mold on bread or anything that smells like mold.
As far as insects in a restaurant, I think you have to be realistic. Insects all over the place is bad. A couple flies in the air is unavoidable during the Summer. Flies mating on your BBQ pork plate is the line.
I wasn’t asked but fuck Mayo. It smells like rot to me. I’ll include it in mold.
