I don't really care if a festival has big headliners. If I like at least 4-5 bands & it's within a 3 hour drive, I'll go. For me, Beach House, BMSR, GBV, Strfkr, Real Estate, Pinback & Caroline Rose are worth the price of admission. I also love the venue, so that helps.
Edit to add: I am a little disappointed they didn't book an 80s band. I enjoyed seeing The Furs & Echo last year. I was hoping for someone like The Jesus & Mary Chain. I guess Cake & GBV are the legacy acts this year.

Not sure if anyone here is attending but a couple updates...
- Arlie dropped and was replaced by We Are Scientists - They released the venue map and there's some major changes (camping is where the fest was last year and the festival is now being held entirely within the renaissance fair grounds) - The added an art car from Burning Man for the Fri and Sat Silent Disco's (similar to Kalliope) - They're showing movies late night in the campers village - They added some new activities (axe throwing, comedy, haunted carnival maze, yoga, and rock and roll jousting

Amaziing weekend...Beach House was mesmerizing, the small crowd really made it feel intimate. Seeing those visuals in that renaissance fair setting was really unique.
Strfkr was amazing as well, their DJ set was a really good time to close out the Shipwreck stage was a blast. Way higher energy than the Tobacco set on Fri.
Keep the reviews coming! We were sad to miss this year, and it looks like the feel totally changed with all the stages moved inside the Renaissance fairground.
Decent enough crowds that you all think it’ll return? We want to go next year and are afraid it’ll go by the wayside since it’s all felt so small, plus the bad weather happened last year with MGMT, etc. Really hoping they are succeeding!

The festival was pretty much perfect. Moving it inside the ren fairgrounds was the right thing to do. There were so many cool areas/things to check out. Last year lacked shade & seating options. There were tons of both this year. Heck, the entire Shipwreck stage (which was an actual ship) was shaded. You could even watch a show from the bar in that area. The bar area was raised, so I chose to stand there a few times. You could see over everyone & it was still pretty close to the stage. A lot of the vendors were inside actual buildings instead of under tents. They had a few general stores with toiletry & food items & they didn't gouge you with the prices. There seemed to be a large variety of food & beer options. The sound was great at both of the main stages. I didn't spend much time at the Acoustic Stage, so I can't say for sure about that one. Everyone I interacted with (the crowd, security, police, vendors, volunteers, etc.) was super nice. The crowd in general was solid. I didn't see too many idiots or Instagram influencer types. Parking was close & easy. Getting in & out of the festival was a breeze. You were able to use a regular, non-plastic backpack! Oh yeah, they had a section with self flushing toilets & sinks with running water! Also, the weather was perfect. No cancellations!
The non-music activities included jousting, axe throwing, corn hole, Giant Jenga, fire performers & movies at the end of the night. The late night DJ sets were a nice touch. The STRFKR DJ set was hella fun. TOBACCOO was pretty low-key.
The music: Beach House put on the best performance of the weekend. I've seen them inside, but seeing them outside under the moon & stars was mesmerizing. Their set was breathtaking. I had mad chills. STRFKER put on the best daytime performance. They are pretty much the perfect daytime festival band. The dancing astronauts & props were awesome. They must've tossed somewhere between 25-50 t-shirts into the crowd too. My other favs were BMSR, Pinback, Real Estate, GBV, Sego (they were new to me & I loved them), R. Ring & Cake. I didn't get there in time to see Twin Shadow on Friday. I was looking forward to his set.
Overall, it was a well run festival. I had a blast. I didn't notice any hiccups. I don't camp, so I can't say anything about that aspect of the festival. There did seem to be a lot more campers this year. My only complaint is having BMSR play at 2:45. They really need to be seen at night so you can see their visuals. They didn't even bother putting them up, which is understandable.
They already sent out a feedback form & it mentions next year.

Gotta agree with everything said here. We only went on Saturday and really wished that we had went the whole weekend. Perfect weather, easy to maneuver between each of the stages, all of the music that we saw was great and the Renaissance festival grounds really added to the festival. If the lineup next year is even semi decent we will back for hopefully the whole thing.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

Damn! Did they really do "Irene"- my favorite BH song - for the encore?!? I would have driven from New Jersey for that.
Anyone want to take a guess on attendance? I would say prob 3k-ish. Really hope they’re able to keep this fest going.
The late night activities really made this fest a blast this year. The roochute group kept the party going to 5am on sat night out in the campgrounds.
I thought 5k-ish by the end of each night, but it was hard to tell with the layout. As long as they can make a profit, I like that it's a smaller festival. I'm not into big crowds.

Damn! Did they really do "Irene"- my favorite BH song - for the encore?!? I would have driven from New Jersey for that.
Yeah, they came out for the encore & someone yelled play Irene! Victoria asked if we wanted to hear Irene & jokingly said something like okay, if we can remember how to play it.
