I can't believe I went to this fest from 2012-14 and saw Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kings Of Leon, The National, Phoenix, Spoon, Chromeo, Empire Of The SunThe Hives, Santigold, Passion Pit, The Gaslight Anthem, Walk The Moon, Haim, Wavves, City & Colour and more and now it is a COMPLETELY different vibe. Not complaining as they've obviously pivoted to what works better but still wild to think about what a mix this fest used to have.
If it's "just" the Lizzo thing, couldn't they get a replacement headliner? Or maybe they were going to, but Lizzo was not going down without a fight/hefty cancellation fee and so MIA just cancelled the whole thing? Very curious.

Thats what I’m guessing. Might have been a guarantee that they could only get out of if the whole fest was cancelled, so perhaps that was the easiest way to recoup their losses.
