TO generally starts gettin’ crowded late Thursday night/Friday mornin’. Are you rollin’ solo or with a group? What size camp setup do you plan to make up? Dependin’ on the answer to those questions a wagon with bungee cords can become your best friend. Really helps to haul your gear from your car to TO. And don’t cheap out on one if needed. My wife and I did our first year together and it broke in some five minutes.

I was going solo but I'm riding with someone from my town who's driving. I was going to get there wednesday mid day/afternoon. I was nervous because I heard tent only filled up on Wednesday nightish. I'm putting all my stuff in a storage tub and just carrying it from his campsite.

In my experience this isn't true. In 2015 I got quarantined in Pod 1 and wasn't able to get to Tent Only until about 1 or 2am. There was still plenty of space. Also walking around Tent Only the past few years there has always been space. There's nobody really monitoring it either. You should be fine.

While it does begin to "fill up" Wednesday, it doesn't reach its complete capacity then (or hasn't from what I've seen), so if you're there on Wednesday you should be fine. Get in ASAP before dark and you should have a decent choice of which spot you want. I'm shooting for 5 PM Wednesday, give or take an hour.
I popped by there around dusk in 2015 and there was tons of empty space, though maybe the rain had some effect - not terribly muddy but pretty soggy. I camped there in 2016 and it was less than half full by 6 or 7 or whatever time I got in there. There were people still filling in the nooks and crannies Friday morning. Not sure about the last two years though, and it looks like they're expecting a bigger crowd.

I'm going to be riding with someone. will they be able to drop me off at tent only Wednesday afternoon or will I have to carry all my stuff from their campsite to tent only?

You'll have to carry all your stuff from their campsite to tent only. It sucks.

You will have to carry your stuff more than likely. I have heard a few stories over the years on the inter webs of: “Oh yeah, my friend dropped us off so we could unload our gear, and then they parked!” But I’ve never seen it nor heard it from a person I know.

Aww, it’s part of the fun!
All kiddin’ aside, it is a pain in the ass! But it is totally worth it fer the rest of the weekend! And you can just drive right up Sun/Mon to pack your gear into their vehicle.

Don't read between the lines here, because I really have no actual knowledge about this, but I wonder how hard it would be to slip out of line and just drive wherever you wanted. All the roads are open to staff traffic all the time, so it'd be a question of whether anyone stopped you, and volunteers may not bat an eyelash at one car that's not in line. Acting like you know what you'redoing and having an excuse on tap can go a long way. Heck, maybe he'll get lucky and get routed near TO, so then it's just a matter of pulling over and stopping for a minute. The real outlaw shit, LOL.
I will also be in Tent Only! Thankfully some friends on the farm are going to loan me their wagon (I can't fit one in my vehicle.) Stop by Camp Fonzarelli and say hi if you spot the Fonz flag!
