This is one of the worst line ups I think I've ever seen. There's nothing (except Marshmello) particularly awful about it. It's just so boring and lifeless.
I think it's gonna be a really good year for Roo and Coach though so I'm not worried.
Speaking of when’s that roo lineup drop so I can see about off loading these two presale vip passes for HOF.

I think they ended a 5 year extension recently and have been negotiating year to year with the city. Every year it seems we hear the "locals have had enough" of hangout but, as we can see it presses on.

Good luck staying away. I only signed up to troll on memphroo, and he's been banned for like two years. Speaking of, has anyone ever seen memphroo and Oliver Tree in the same room together?

wouldn’t mind it moving a bit East to Pensacola. It’ll be easier for artist and attendees to fly in to PNS.
Man this is so fucking bad. This is a real shame to start the semi major festival season with this.
It's tradition at this point. Hangout sets the standard for the year by showing everyone just how bad things can get. This is better than 2019 so I'm even more excited for 2020 now.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
What's the gist here? It's behind a paywall. And I think this lineup will sell just fine, though I won't be in attendance. It's definitely better than it has been in recent years. It might even sell out.
So according to this, the contract agreement rolls through 2025 - but each year the city doesn't allow permits until they re-assess their situation 60 days prior to fest day.

Gulf Shores city official Grant Brown said they've gotten complaints of festival-goers roaming the streets, parking, and sleeping on private property. Some festival-goers were even seen relieving themselves in people's yards.
"People have rights. Their properties are being infringed upon, and that just can't happen. So we're going to really police it hard," Brown said, "But in doing that, it requires additional police resources and additional money to make sure that happens."
Another issue, officials said, is the lack of musical variety in recent years.
According to Brown, the festival has focused heavily on electronic music, which has caused sound complaints.
"We definitely want to encourage them to return to a broad genre of all types of music and not narrow down on any one particular type," said Brown.
So I have people crawling out of the woodwork asking about going to Hangout this year. I had to pull teeth the last few years. Not sure what's so different about this year than last year's in the general scheme of "oh cool whoever is the most popular right now" other than we don't have to sleep through the Lumineers "closing".

The presale thing is weird. I'm assuming it's to only release a small amount so they can say "Presale SOLD OUT!" and get the FOMO pumping. When you sign up to get the presale code it sends you to another website where you can win VIP passes and you earn additional entries by posting on social media, looking at their instagram and watching the Hangout 2019 highlight video on youtube multiple times (not kidding, every view gets additional entries). All because there was no one there last year.

While most opinions have been negative, most of those posts also ended with "this thing will sell". The difference between this year and last year is the pool of available/active artists. 2019 was a dry year for US festivals and Hangout really got shafted. Shouldn't be a shock that Travis Scott-Khalid-Lumineers didn't sell but RHCP-Post-Billie is pulling people back.

For Buku and Hangout sharing some of the same artist why couldn’t Hangout have got RTJ and Glass Animals!!

Nah they’ll get someone. There’s plenty of time. Tyler, rtj, lil Wayne, ASAP he’ll they could do like frank ocean and go a totally different genre. Who knows but no way they don’t replace the 7th name.
