Fair points, and I'm not convinced either which hopefully I made clear. I had read that article early this morning, and it's an early academic take on what they are thinking. I don't think it's clear, if Bernie is the nominee, whether he would over or under perform. He's got an army of volunteers who give a shit about the future, but there are a lot of stupid fucking voters on the right and a lot of people who just repeat and believe what they hear.
I saw this on FB, too, and there has to be at least a little bit of suspicion that he might've done this on purpose. As in, maybe he is wearing it because of Barry Sanders but also for Bernie. I mean, Michigan's primary is March 10 which is pretty soon.

Either way, it shows you how emotional reactions are taking over logic. His support for a candidate, if he was EVEN doing that, was subversive and not allocated to an event. They can't contend with the thought of liking anyone who isn't Republican or Republican lite. They are disgusted by large sections of America, and they hide behind their gated fences.

I agree. But to be fair, if my favorite artist, band, sports star, or celebrity came out as pro-Trump, I would very likely stop liking them, too.

Welcome to life with Rob Lowe's, Vincent D'onforio (sp?), Clint's directing, and probably the hundreds who don't say anything publicly.

I fully believe that if Bernie wins the nomination, he will win in November. But winning the nomination seems like an impossible task right now. It seems like everything is shifting towards Biden now. Do you all think Bernie’s only chance at the nomination is for Warren to drop and endorse him as the leader of the progressive movement?

Where are you seeing the shift to Biden? If anything, moderates and/or the DNC are shifting towards Bloomberg and Pete.

i just saw a headline that was talking about how steyer is gonna come in and take bidens scraps
Bern folks (or others i guess, idk), if you get a text from a Warren, etc. staffer, do you try to convince them to vote bernie? i mean you'd think that they would already be pretty set, but idk.

I didn't try to convince Corinne, but I did ask her to tell Liz to drop out and endorse Bernie.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Just more evidence that the GOP doesn't view the Democrats as a legit opposition party. Which makes Biden's dreams of working with the GOP more ridiculous than they already sounded.
Bernie's got a rally in Boston tomorrow, but I'm skipping it. I'll be going to Worcester to help with the canvass there instead.
Yeah it'd be cool to go see him and experience the atmosphere, but it's nothing if we don't win. I'm hoping he comes to Providence or somewhere in CT sometime in April.

That's the narrative they are going with at the moment but Bernie is still the clear leader even if he loses South Carolina today.... which odds are he will. What's funny is Biden has dominated the polls in SC up until Iowa. Now they will treat him like some comeback king for winning one of the places he's most favored. It's bullshit but the establishment is going to push to create momentum behind him in the hopes it's raises him back up for Super Tuesday.
The fact is Bernie is the only one with a real shot of winning the primary outright and is the heavy favorite if it comes does to plurality. Biden has a fair chance of winning a plurality but he's relying on a blowout today and a windfall of donations to make him competitive, etc. Most reporting I've read shows his campaign infrastructure across the country is a fucking joke. He'd basically be pulled across the finish line. With some help with all these other candidates looking for an excuse to stick around and snag enough delegates and votes to deny Bernie a path. You'd have to be a fucking dumbass to believe you'd win a general after limping into the convention in a self-serving manner but whatever.
Things have been insane. Someone could write a book on media bias just on the last 2 weeks. Also, Democratic officials are openly talking about how to beat the frontrunner. Just crazy. The DNC is deadset on fucking this up.
So who are y'all betting drops out after Super Tuesday?
Ideally, everyone but Bern-dog. Realistically: Warren, Klobuchar, Steyer, and one of Biden/Pete.
So many?
I'm expecting to stay in; (in order of likelyhood) Sanders Bloomberg Biden Buttigieg Steyer Warren Klobuchar
Tho, since Waren has been accepting money from PAC, I can see her still moving on. Ultimately it'll end up with Sanders against Biden/Buttigieg I feel like.

I think that order is pretty much right. Although I'd put Steyer below the ladies.
It really depends on if Biden can win decisively today and then over-perform his polling on Super Tuesday. If him and Bloomberg cancel each other out then the moderates could still be in a mess and Pete might not see a reason to drop. Although I think it's likely the moderates start rallying behind Biden and people like Pete and Amy get their marching orders.
It really just boils down to how Biden does. Everyone staying in a deludes the vote and makes it's harder for Bernie to reach a delegate majority. So if nobody raises to challenge Sanders a lot of them might just stick around.
I can't imigine what anyone could be thinking putting PAC money behind Warren at this point..... Except it's a good way to split up Bernie's delegate hauls if she can reach 15% in states he's posed to win. She's in no way a good candidate for the general at this point. So yeah, I'm thinking that PAC money is at least partly cynical. Although I doubt it's really going to have much impact in so little time.
Didn't Warren just come into a ton of money? She picked up a ton of donations after she bodied Bloomberg and now she's got PAC money too. That could keep her around a while longer.
If Biden doesn't win anything I would imagine he drops out. But with all the talk of a brokered convention it's hard to picture anyone dropping out unless they absolutely have to. If you can hang on until Milwaukee and Bernie doesn't win outright you can make the case to Super Delegates that, "I'm not Bernie OR Bloomberg."
Also I do not know anything about politics so don't listen to me.

I may be way too optimistic about people dropping out, but it seems like now is the time for people to start uniting around one candidate. Sanders has done so well that he will obviously stay in the race. Which is why I think Warren would benefit the progressive movement by dropping out. Bloomberg is obviously gonna stay in, unfortunately. If Biden wins SC, then he will stay. The rest of them, I just don’t see the benefit in staying in any longer. They aren’t going to win the nomination, so they are only contributing to a division that will end up causing a defeat when it matters most.
