When my parents were trying to getmme to vote for Perry's last governorship I reminded my mom that she voted for Al Gore, and my stepdad who wasn't around then burst out "AL GORE?!"
I straight up voted for Kerry which was the first time I voted Democrat since Dukakis in 1988. There was simply no way I could support Bush/Cheney under any circumstances. Kerry got fucked by those lying Texans "Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth". Those were some shitty ex-military people in league with Karl Rove and the campaign. Pieces of shit.
Kerry was also a weak candidate. From someone who went out for him.
You literally got Dukakis 2.0
And if it counts, I've voted DNC since 2002 since I was just not 18 in 2000 and I was angry as fuck. 2004 was when I also realized the DNC may be utterly inept in politics. It was not a fun couple years between that and now, but I will say the only thing is that I deviate on local elections and voted Green in 2016 because.. in Brooklyn my vote particularly was a throw away.
It's certainly a fair take. I felt like he was nuanced and more of a technocrat type lawmaker. I also felt like he would have been a much better president than W.
I liked Ron Paul in 07-08 because of his anti-war/non-interventionism and wrote an Op-Ed in my HS paper about him and "blowback" and how 9/11 was our fault. Kinda surprised it got published, looking back on it.
My Journalism teacher when I told her I was writing it was like "oh, isn't he crazy? Didn't he say 9/11 was our fault?" And I was like "well, it was".

I liked Ron Paul too in '07 for being pro-weed legalization. Even had a pic of him and I as a FB profile pic for a while. No shame here. Life's about growth.
What is everybody’s thoughts on the Wayfair stuff? What I’ve seen makes it seem like it’s a real thing but people believe it a little too much and the second you ask they go on a 5 minute rant about George Soros and Bill Clinton. It also apparently originated on QAnon so that also falters my ability to believe it.

It's definitely strange. I've noticed some wacky stuff browsing Wayfair before, but I saw some comments saying the items could be listed at high prices because they're out of stock and they don't to take the pages down.

It's just Pizzagate with a different name. It's still QAnon bull shit.
Do you listen to The Law Boy's podcast? 5-4 Podcast, on all the ways the Supreme Court has ruined America. They've got some great episodes on some shitty cases, but Law Boy (Peter) absolutely flips his shit every time they do a case about the cops.

No, but I'll check it out. One of the best political Twitter accounts I've found.
On RBG, if she died at this point and the Dems didn't hold up a Trump nominee until Biden got elected the way the Republicans did with Garland then they simply do not care about the Supreme Court in the first place. I mean, that is probably the case, based on what we already know. Not worried about it.
Not sure how they could hold up a nominee if RBG died. Republicans have the majority in the senate and would only need 51 votes to confirm a replacement.

I feel bad for RBG. She keeps having health issues and I'm sure she's ready to retire but she basically just has to suck it up and stick it out for the good of humanity. It's an incredibly noble sacrifice but I still feel for her.

This lady lost. I am happy about that. The guy who beat her sucks too I'm sure but I envisioned a Dan Crenshaw future for her. The ads were non-stop so she had serious backing. Pretty sure she ran in 2018 too.
The progressive guy in my district won. He was the nom last time and the general was close-ish. Hoping a little name recognition and unfavorable attitudes toward Rs can carry him this time.
