Anyway, the reason I mention interest rates is - I was listening to someone's podcast the other day. And, the host was saying how the chair of the Fed is being reckless and using interest rates as a means of putting the economy in a recession before the election - to favor Republicans.
Yeah refinancing is a good option. However, in the meantime, you still have to assume you’ll be paying those inflated mortgage rates while you wait for the interest rates to drop. There’s no guarantee that they will significantly in the near future if at all. We had historically low rates for a very long time. It doesn’t mean it will happen again. But it might!
You also have to consider insurance rates and taxes. Those vary based on where you buy your home, but around here those insurance rates are insane and keep getting worse.
If you can get insured to begin with.
You can get it, it's just stupid expensive. My insurance went up $500/month in March.
I wasn't even sure how we were going to swing that, but luckily we somehow pull it off each month (July was touch and go). Imagine if that happened and we rented though... That landlord is going to pass that on to the renter with their own interest.
As much as I want to buy a house right now, I’m afraid of another Katrina and never being made right by the insurance companies. We are in a great situation where we rent from my in laws, but this won’t last forever
The best part is he's apparently telling the story to Roseanne Barr in the video. I just can't bring myself to watch a video with those two together. It's Sunday.

And to think you have people that are complaining about Harris getting the nomination the way she did bc this guy might have won it in a fair primary.
Gawd, every week that passes RFK becomes more of a fucking loon. What a piece of shit. Can't believe some peeps for a while thought he was a legit candidate...Saw his bullshit and craziness from a mile away.

So my dad was chief of staff for a congressman in the 80’s who is one of the republicans that just endorsed Kamala. I had largely given up on trying to convince him to vote blue (tried hard in the Obama era, got incredibly frustrated, and gave up after it started to create too much tension and animosity)…debating whether between that endorsement and my own fertility issues making this election quite personal it’s worth another shot.
He’s a guy who cannot stand Trump but votes libertarian. My mother is a single issue anti-abortion voter who thinks IVF is immoral, so I’m pretty wary of wading into those waters, particularly given my entire history on this topic suggests nothing good would come of it, but still.
Probably not great that there is a growing trend of thirsting over the Schlossberg's (tiktok loves the son because he looks like the Dune guy). Whole family should be treated with suspicion.
Oh he was only 60. He's basically a kid. Who hasn't done something like this with a large animal carcass they found on the side of the road.
Nothing screams privilege like "Kennedy was driving to a falconry outing in upstate New York"
The fact he had to drive himself is shocking. Then i realized someone else took the picture. So he probably had his driver pull over and do all this shit hahaha
When Republicans and their cronies want an economic recession to help their own election.
Can't help but think this is intentional
Just as intentional as the Missouri GOP instructing the KCPD to not respond to crime to drive up crime rates. Why does the State govenrment control a city police? Because of a law from Prohibiton times. Police funding at record levels and they can't even protect property (which is of course all they really exist for anyways)
Another Sunday, another dozen local restaurants broken into. Every fucking weekend. I hate it here.
