The media is just giddy that Vance didn't bomb. A lot of "return to normalcy" and "civility" being thrown around today.
We are so fucked next month.
It’s annoying but I think it’s worth remembering the Venn diagram of undecided voters at this point in the election and people who watch the VP debate is two distinct circles. It may give some republicans that don’t love trumps chaos an excuse to vote for him, but if Vance being cordial in the debate among his entire body of cat eating work is what gives them that permission, they were always going to find something that got them there.
My wife starts IVF this week. First transfer will probably be around inauguration day. We live in a red state (abortion is on the ballot).
I have nothing to chill about. Every waking moment is anxiety and fear.
I know; you’ve mentioned it, and I get it - my wife and I are likely to go through it in the next six months. But walking around assuming everything is fucked all of the time is not good for your mental health, and at least in my own experience of times I’ve been that despondent about the future, it wasn’t good for the people around me either. The VP debate is going to have zero impact on this election.
Being nervous or worried is one thing. Making every statement a fatalistic assumption that the thing you hope for is impossible is something else entirely.
