The voters already voted. They're just doing the will of people who still answer their landline.
Do you think Biden should be the nominee?
That's not really relevant. Primaries already took place, and he won them all. I want the nominee to be the person most likely to win in the general election. I'm not certain that that person is not Joe Biden.

I think it's fair to question if someone else can beat him, but do you think Biden is likely to beat Trump? Because landline and non-landline polls disagree.
This interests me simply because I tend to be on the same side as AOC and Bernie on most issues when it comes down to it.
Now personally, I'm not really fully throated supporting drop out .vs. stay in because no matter what...I'm voting for the Dem nominee. So to me it ultimately doesn't matter right this moment. I do believe that Biden has been looking bad and had more than. A few gaffes or poor performances or whatever. But I really don't know enough to say one way or the other what the best move is. I do believe AOC was saying something like how the big money donors pulling strings will be controlling who gets picked so that's why it may not be as simple as Harris steps up. But either way, it's been intriguing to see these two backing Biden completely at this point
unfortunately, AOC and Bernie are just as bought and sold as the rest of the dems are. they did fully support Israel’s genocide of palestinians and have overall undergone a pretty massive change in political attitude since the Biden administration. While I do think both of them are still better than Biden this seems to be more a show of loyalty to Biden/the DNC than anything
Yeah, let's stop pretending like we actually had a choice in selecting Biden as the nominee. If he "won" anything, it was the 2020 primaries, which were 4-5 years ago. Before his very obvious decline

Buddy, he was declining then.
Absolutely, which makes this so much more insane to me.
The whole party knew, too. Always trying to hide it from us when it was there in plain sight and until they couldn't hide it any longer. And now that it's pretty much too late, they want to come out and ask him "please, sir, can you please step down?"

It's just so pathetic.
It's not a bad thing to admit mistakes and make efforts to correct them.
for all intents and purposes there was not really a primary anyway
The last time the Dems had a true primary with an incubant they got absolutely smoked by Reagan
Yes, but that primary did in fact help Carter. His approval rating before the primary was abysmal, worse than Biden's, sub-30%. Once the primary started it jumped back up above 50% and stayed that way for over three months. Once the primary was over he fell back down to the 40's, but never got as low as he was before the primary.
Those changes also coincide with the start and disastrous end of the hostage crisis, but I still don't see how you can look at that and think the primary hurt him. Nobody polling at 27% has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the presidency.

And no, there was no real primary this year, anyone who says there was is either daft or lying about it. But there should have been. Biden is not a normal incumbent. If he'd won, it would've meant he'd answered all of these questions. Either way, we wouldn't be dealing with this shit in July.

Joe's always been an awful campaigner who needed the nomination handed to him but to complain about 2016 now is so pathetic lol. Hillary wipes the floor with Joe regardless in the primary.

I fully disagree lol. Biden would have won that primary the same way Obama did in 08 (not in terms of campaign but in terms of slowly wearing everyone else down). Felt like everyone wanted him to run and was frustrated they didn’t have a middle ground between Hillary and Bernie.
And if Hillary had beaten him it would’ve helped her in the general; instead of feeling like she was given it ahead of time, she would’ve earned it and earned everyone’s support. I say all this as someone who voted for her in the primary.
