Y’all keep confusing me with someone who thinks we have a good candidate in this election. I simply do not like Biden or Trump, the only two candidates that have a shot at winning. RFK isn’t even on the ballot in Louisiana. As it stands, I couldn’t vote for him even if I wanted to.
LD is the only person who has recognized that I’m just a stereotypical disillusioned person who wants to protest vote out of frustration, while being in a meaningless state where my vote doesn’t matter anyway (another source of frustration).
And much of your points regarding the flaws of the RFK candidacy are valid, which is why I haven’t been disagreeing with you. I’ve stopped defending him. But I also don’t dislike him to the level that y’all do.
The best way I can explain it to you why I come across as attacking Biden but giving RFK passes is because I don’t actually think RFK can win. Biden is our only hope to beat trump. And he’s very flawed imo.
I hope some of you can at least try to understand where my feelings are coming from. And if you can’t that’s fine. I hope this is the last time I attempt to defend myself. I’m going to just try to ignore it and move on.
Your concerns about RFK stealing more votes from Biden is valid. I’m still not convinced that’s the case. So I get why y’all are also frustrated. I don’t currently have the capacity to fight for Biden. It’s still only April so time will tell. But again, and I cannot stress this enough, my vote in Louisiana does not matter.
It's more that your complaints paint this picture of non-Trump politicians that they are all just as bad as (or worse) than Trump when we know for a fact Trump and Republicans are significantly worse for everyone that isn't an evangelical Christians. That's how he tricked you in 2016, with his "well they're all bad so why not just go with the worst? At least I tell it like it is" act.
It discourage others from educating themselves on the (few) upsides of Biden/Democrats and the (many) downsides of Trump/Republicans. When you distort the successful blocking of (the few) good Democrat policies by republicans as "the failings of democrats", it is gleeful misinformation while offering no alternative to fix said problem. It's lazy and borderline purposeful ignorance.
There are plenty of valid reasons to criticize democrats, but student loan forgiveness can be proven with hard numbers, and every single Biden-alternative is worse (because they have no hard numbers, because they are bad faith actors).
When you find a candidate that is better at student loan forgiveness, please let us know, I agree we can go even further down the forgiveness route, but Biden's plan not working for you is not proof that the other 2 options will give you any help.

To thwart the hateful anti-abortion agenda is more than enough for me and my wife to vote blue all up and down our ballots, every which way we can, come November. This is all so unbelievable infuriating and horrific. Women should continue to have the right to choose, and medical professionals and their patients should be the ones determining if/when terminating a pregnancy is necessary. The Republicans continue to miscalculate and underestimate that the MAJORITY of the country feels this way, and they'll show it at the ballot box.
Fuck Trump, Fuck the Republicans, and anybody else who sides with them on this:
The broad-based student loan forgiveness he promised during his 2020 campaign failed and he duped a lot of people (myself included) into thinking he could do it. In hindsight, it’s pretty obvious he knew it was a long shot to ever pass.
PSLF is still a total shit show. It’s been a huge pain in the ass for almost an entire year now, and I still haven’t been approved. The first time I applied it took from like Aug to Dec for them to come back and say I still needed 5 payments (as of Aug). So I had made four more since then. In Jan when I made the 120th payment, I applied again. They already have all my info from the previous application, and they’re actively tracking it each month now and giving me updates. Yet I applied at the end of Jan and it’s still a 90 business day process that is not going to finish by the time they shut it down in May.
Not Biden’s fault that PSLF is run terribly, but it certainly is not easier because of him. He gets no credit for improving it.
After being burned the last time, I can’t look at this any other way than it being a campaign tactic that they know won’t be resolved in the courts before the election. I do not trust it. I have valid reasons for not trusting it.
His support amongst young voters is dropping and he’s double-dipping in the student loan relief pot to try to turn things around.
Can’t ignore literally where 100% of the opposition comes from. Several friends on several different pivots have gotten forgiveness.
Biden and the dems just need to run on abortion and it's a slam dunk. And legalize weed right there in October, you know, as a little treat.
Republicans already pivoting back to the center (for the next 6 months anyways) on abortion. It's really a shame they are going to cakewalk back into all 3 branches. Fucking cursed earth

WUT? lol. They aren't going to take all 3 branches of government bud. Way to be all ridiculously super doom and gloom.

The system is broken. I don't see how we have major progress in this country until the billionaires don't own the politicians and I don't see that changing any time soon

Unfortunately your average American is as informed and as good at critical thinking as Jakicker. People like them exist by the millions and aren't going to get magically smarter in next 6 months. It's just going to be a bunch of selfish people going "hurrrr my life didn't get better so obviously we need to break things more!" which will result in a Harambe 2016 situation. Time is a flat circle.
America is a reactive culture, not a proactive culture. So when progress doesn't happen overnight, Americans will react. Unfortunately that just means another pendulum swing before progress was allowed to take root.

I certainly share the consternation but Dave McCormick ain't beating Bobby Casey.

My life is going great, oh benevolent informed one. And since I haven’t had my head in the sand, I’ve been saying for months already that Trump is going to win.

Pondering how this all gets blamed on Iran. This was fucking avoidable by both sides but attacking the embassy had no strategic value outside of escalation.

"Israel has a right to defend itself" ad nauseam.
They’ve only killed 14,000 children so far. They are a long way away from safety.
And here comes the US pledging to shoot down anything threatening Israel.
I wonder if unquestionably given them military aid and even military support, while they commit atrocities, emboldens them at all? Probably nothing to consider here.
