Truly this is the democrats race to lose. They should be hammering the GOP and Trump with so much right now.
If Trump runs in November and beats Kamala Harris then I am truly left wondering if this country just wants to be/deserves to be a hellscape.
This is fucking wild. But I'm suddenly feeling better about Harris at the top of the ticket than I was a few hours ago.
Now there's only one too-old white guy in the race, and his cognitive abilities and incredible tendency to ramble and lie have to be big issues.
If the Dems don't tout Biden's accomplishments right now, especially the economic stuff, and use that as a starting point for Harris to build from, they're stupid and will still lose. She has to be an extension of Joe's successes and the new, more energetic presence everyone seems to want.
IMO Cooper is a no. Too old and if he left his position, NC would go to the crackpot Lt. gov. Mark Robinson. Josh Shapiro is a zionist Jew. That will not go over well with a large subsection of the Democratic caucus. Newsom can’t due to delegate votes. Whitmer had said no. Beshear could be in the same situation as Cooper, not wanting to abandon his state to full MAGA control.
Process of elimination: Mark Kelly or Pete Buttigieg

Cooper is term-limited and not running in the 2024 election.
"Its is illegal in many states for the nominee to drop out of the race so he can't do that."
"If he is dropping out from the race he needs to resign from the presidency!"
Like all of their recent confidence came from how bad his debate performance was and his age and now that they can't use that they are grasping at straws and maybe a little scared that they are stuck with the old ass felon now.

Yeah it’s literally the opposite - having Cooper on the ticket helps prevent Robinson from becoming governor by boosting NC dem turnout

I just deleted Twitter from my phone. I’m not sure why I didn’t do it ages ago, as it’s become absolutely awful. Anyhow, I will now rely on inforoo for any useful tweets.

I know that AZ has a democratic governor so she could appoint someone to replace Mark Kelly. Would the replacement have to run again in 2026 or 2028?
If it's 2026, I wouldn't want to have to defend a swing state senate seat in a midterm. We saw how things went the first time there were midterms during a black president's presidency. Also not sure how many more strong candidates AZ has considering they just recruited Kelly and Gallego in the last few years.

Kamala Harris is a complete dud. I'm surprised anyone wants to endorse her much less run with her and self sabotage themselves as her VP lmao. Only advantage is she isn't senile and has (theoretical) minority attraction.

Still celebrating that Biden finally dropped out but I'll probably be here in a week or two. Kamala's political resume is pretty awful. She didn't even make it to primary season in 2020.

I don’t love Kamala and never have but I think people will be very relieved to see a halfway decent debate performance against Trump if that ever happens.
It’s certainly a bold move but I’m happy the Democrats actually did something ballsy for once.
Maybe I’m naive in thinking this but seeing how quickly people forgot about all the good things Biden did during his term just because of his current senile screw ups, makes me think they’ll be quick to forgot about Kamala record. Or even remember what she did wrong. Feels like modern politics is about what you can do for me now.

When I saw that tweet about Manchin my immediate reaction was “well, he’s welcome to do that, but who fucking cares?”
And I’ve stated at length the many problems I have with Kamala, but at this stage she’s simply the most logical pick. If there had been a real primary, I don’t think she’d have won it. It doesn’t matter. She’s an improvement on Biden at her worst and at her best could be tremendous (I’m expecting somewhere in the middle.)
This race has been impossible to shake up; the disastrous debate didn’t meaningfully change polls, an assassination attempt didn’t change polls. This should actually do it, and in a way that isn’t disastrous for dems. If it doesn’t, be afraid and hope polling is simply broken.

feels like a lot of people think they fell out of a coconut tree instead of living in the context of all that came before

Yeah. I can 100% see Trump trying to duck debating bc she's not a "legitimate" nominee.
He already demanded that the GOP be reimbursed for campaigning against Joe and that the next debate should be Fox instead. We'll see if it ever happens.

A rare lose lose situation for Donny. He debates, he looks his age/crazy, don't debate risk looking like a coward to all the swing voters (blows my mind these people still exist, but they do)
Hi. Fuck the world. It mostly sucks. But not 100%. Only Republicans suck that much. A black woman should be running shit anyway. Been a long time coming. Vote or fuck you. . L8
