So whats up with Mayor Pete now. He hasnt had to do any reshuffling on his positions. And his names being thrown in there. God, thats gonna be the whole fucking drama going into the convention moreso than the nominee.
And yeah, what would be a "better" choice if you dumped Vance? Would he bother with Haley? Its totally gonna turn into The Apprentice if he isnt gonna be happy with the Vp pick since theyre are dumber than rocks.

I'm honestly not sure what you're talking about. "Reshuffling on his positions"? "Whole fucking drama"? What?
The veep nominee will be set before the convention so I have no clue what drama you're alluding to nor do I have the slightest idea what positions need reshuffling. I don't think it'll be him, though I'd happily vote for him and her, but this is one of the weirdest ways of talking about whether it might be him (or anyone) that I've seen.

I've been seeing Walz from MN on TV alot the past week, I like what he is about, he seems like a typical midwestern hard ass dad with a good heart who has legitimate progressive accomplishments in a midwestern state.
He's on TV talking a lot about how the GOP and their ideas are weird and they are losers. I love that, I think having a guy like him portray the GOP in that way is the way to go. Its hits better than Hillary calling them deplorables. It makes sense too, I don't know how any of these people can look and listen to someone like Ted Cruz and think that "these are the people I identify with."

Virtually every politician in the GOP *is* a weirdo. “These guys are just weird” is a great line of attack.

This is fascinating/nuts, and also changes my perspective on Roy Cooper being the veep nominee. Evidently in half of states, if the Governor leaves the state for any reason, the Lt Gov becomes acting governor. Which in NC's case would be Mark Robinson, a maniac. A big part of the appeal of having Cooper on the ticket would be to keep Robinson from winning, but having Cooper on the trail would mean giving the Governorship to Robinson for months. No bueno.
Now I think it's either Shapiro or Kelly. Maybe Pete.

kelly has faults (probably too pro military complex, opposed to New Green Deal, opposed to Medicare for All, a little too heavy on border security) but he's probably the best of the bunch.
It's been fun watching him show up on news programs recently and kick-start the whole, "Republicans are a bunch of fucking weirdos" angle.
Walz went from "definitely not a contender" (no name recognition, fairly safe state) to "y'know what, I could get behind this Walz guy" in 2 minutes with that interview. And not just the comments about republicans being weirdos - good rural bona fides as a counter to JD. Also love that he was a public school teacher.

Shitty but those are definitely pros in terms of courting centrist votes in swing states.

Policy frankly is pretty low on the list of relevant issues in picking a VP right now IMO. Veeps don't set policy aside from sometimes one big thing they spearhead (Kelly would be great to lead on gun control - he's got the credibility as a gun owner, the personal experience from Giffords, and it's an issue he's worked on a lot).
Location is maybe the most important (will they potentially help win a swing state), and communication probably next important (you want the VP candidate to be a force on the campaign trail), with demographics not too far behind.
