Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Everything feels simultaneously so surreal & yet also like it has been such a long time coming, of course this is where we are at
Had this moment last night. It’s incredibly disheartening seeing innocent protesters asking for basic human rights are becoming victims. I hope some good comes out of this beyond white people actually getting upset for once
2024: The Floozies, Phyphr, Disco Biscuits, Cimafunk, WSMFP, The Killers, Cory Wong, Dumpstaphunk, Bomba Estereo, Molly & Golden Hwy, Big Freedia, Payton/Nth Power, A.P&TFN
I've seen more than a few people are losing their eyes this week due to the rubber bullets. Plus almost every pic I've seen of someone after being hit (many in that thread) shows they are no fucking joke.
People around Denver are showing them off now. The welts are fucking HUGE. they'll shoot you if you're on your porch here.
Rubber bullets are lethal. Kneeling isn't. Yet one is so vehemently disgusted as an atrocity.

It really is starting to feel like the time to act. I've been passively donating funds, buying yard signs, volunteering, going to whatever peaceful rallies and congregations, voting locally.....
It truly feels like we are staring face to face with the enemy of democracy and what this nation stands for apparently. Anger is filling everytime I see a female protestor get beat down by an officer in riot gear and bullet proof vest. With the president practically allowing "open season" on America's own citizens, the phrase "if not not, when....." is really paramount. To think, we have a fucking election in a few months....I can't even comprehend the structure of this country.

Fuck a black square. I'm so annoyed with facebook friends who post a blank image to act like they're doing something. Donate, share content, silence is doing zero good.

I added the black bloack as my profile. I don't really post on Facebook, but I am responding to others posts, donating and speaking up about it in real life. I get what you are saying but we're also in a pandemic with a large portion of people that are unemployment right now, some people can only stand with others by posting that black image.

My problem is the hashtag and not the blacked out photo.
People are using #blacklivesmatter and #BLM who are in the thick of it. These folk are having to dig to find information.
I blacked out this morning (in a non-drunken kinda way). Its more for support than anything else. Obviously it changes nothing. Since I can't be there physically, I donate both time and money.

We gotta vote. I really hope this convinces younger people to finally come out and vote en masse. Yes, there's a lot of regional shit like voter suppression, gerrymandering, etc. fighting against us, but we have the power. It all starts locally. Hopefully we'll see grassroots folks running who are for police reform. This will be a long struggle.
primary elections today in dc, indiana, iowa, maryland, montana, new mexico, pennsylvania, rhode island and south dakota. all but dc and rhode island are state primaries in addition to presidential. go vote if you haven't done so by mail already!
Someone has taken that BS White House promo video of Trump crossing over to the church and holding up that book he has never opened in his life and added appropriate audio. I'd post it, but I'm an idiot and can't seem to manage.
