I'm very skeptical of this, because the first season was based on a book and exhausted the source material, BUT the same was true of the Leftovers, and if anything that got better as it went on.
I love this show. The only thing I don’t like is Nicole Kidman’s inability to maintain her fake American accent, the Australian keeps slipping through.

HAHA I've noticed that, they should've just made her Australian. The book takes place in AU, coulda been an easy write-in.
i definitely haven't been feeling it as much as last season, idk. im sure it'll pick up, I don't really remember at what point it clicked for me last season.
They talk a lot about it being a public school in the first season, how it’s the best public school in the state of something so that’s why everyone moves there. Also you gotta imagine that property taxes are crazy there with so many rich people and huge homes, so the school is incredibly well funded.

I'm sure they established it, but Fred's point about Renata (I think this would also be true of Madeleine) stands. It does make sense as to why Zig is in the school.
So many good moments in the episode. Perry's mom already made my skin crawl, but it went to another level completely here. Truly enjoy Adam Scott just being a dick to everyone (except Bonnie). I hope they continue exploring Bonnie's relationship with her mother, because that stuff is super interesting.
The therapist is a little too insightful and a lot too judgmental, and she mostly functions just to tell us what to think, so I don't love that, but this episode really psyched me up for the rest of the season in a way the first two didn't really.
