We got in within about 20 minutes. But they had it split up by “men and women”. And they didn’t even do a touch search. So that was weird. I have never been spilt up that way at a fest. Bags vs no bags maybe. Anyways.
Also. They don’t have wine here. We talked to one bartender. He said no wine at any of the GA bars. Said it wasn’t their “demographic”. Asked me if I wanted a seltzer. Ahahah.
They touch searched me so much the woman literally grabbed my tits even though I am wearing a very tiny top. I am wearing booty shorts too and she like rubbed her hands down my thigh to my knee even though I'm clearly not hiding anything there because its bare skin.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Jamie was the best set of the entire night. I'm still trying to comprehend.
Eartheater vocally was amazing but the stage sounded TERRIBLE. We couldn't stand it and had to leave.
The Strokes sounded so bad.
Romy and Peggy killed it, but putting the entrance to Main Frame in the front of the stage made it impossible to go inside. If you have VIP, go through the lounge and enter through the back.

I also got pretty much just short of a finger bang during my search. I also went in a little earlier so at that point I’m sure they were taking their time.
Everyone saying that The Strokes were bad… yeah Julian Casablancas was a shitshow but did you expect anything else? I thought the rest of the band was great. Easily the top set for me.
Eartheater’s sound was so off it was basically unenjoyable, super disappointing. I would have enjoyed Peggy Gou more if I wasn’t fighting so hard to get into that crowd.
Top 5: 1. The Strokes 2. Jamie XX 3. Yves Tumor 4. Moses Sumney 5. Ela Minus

Man, people are REALLY hating on this festival on reddit. There has definitely been a quality drop for sure but it's not so terrible that I am out here making posts on reddit with the title "death to iii points" what were these people expecting...?

It’s a tragedy that Yves got cut short because of the rain. They were kicking ass. Probably would've been my favorite show of the day. Also S/O to the rain for forcing me to see Romy. Was pleasantly surprised there.

Actually.. did anyone else think Yves was lip syncing? I couldn’t tell for sure but it sounded awfully good and like the studio versions of those songs.
So interesting seeing the split of people who said the Strokes were their favorite show and those that said it was their worst.
Any reviews for Moses Sumney?
Think it probably comes down to how you feel about Julians drunkness or whatever. I don’t really see how anyone could say the band sounded bad. They were crisp. stage sounded great. They just ran through hits in an abbreviated set due to the rain.

Noticed this and this was 100% the case. At least heavily backtracked to the point where they would deliver a few lines of their lyrics and pull the mic away sometimes while the rest of the song completely played.
Guessing it was maybe the festival setup/prep for heavy rain? Anyone else seen them before?

He looked and sounded beautiful.
I don’t shy away from criticizing this festival when appropriate, but I honestly thought they did a good job converting this to an outdoor fest. I can’t say it was any better or worse than past years. I can criticize them for opening the gates late and the lack of free water, but they’ve had those same issues in the past. I had a great experience, although I didn’t have to deal with the shit show of the entry cause I got in at like 6:30 and it was fine then.
As a strokes stan I agree with the take that the band sounded fantastic and Julian was a fucking mess as to be expected. It was my favorite show because I love them, but objectively I can easily understand why some people disliked it.
I didn’t last until Jamie, but I also really enjoyed Moses, Khruangbin, and what I saw of Peggy Gou.
If anyone wants to say hi today I’ll be in a teal and pink Miami Heat Vice t shirt and dark blue shorts with a flower pattern. I’ll be at Gramps for the free beer and pizza pre fest.

Main Frame getting weird criticism from people, but if anyone went to Day for Night (RIP), they had their co-main inside with a similar setup. Easily my favorite place to be.

Jamie was solid. He started great but there was a lull in the middle of the set (thought it got a little samey there for a bit) but he redeemed himself in the last hour-ish..
