I think it’s the most experimental production she’s had. Kinda like Pop 2 without features. I loved the singles and I think they’re the weakest songs.
I'm not 100% sold on 7 years and I finally Understand. Not bad, but not standouts at this point. Everything else is already fire to me after 3 listens. The last two songs are a bit of a jarring change in pace. On first listen they felt out of place to me, but they are pretty undeniably banging. Feels like album of the year. Will need more time before putting it over Charli which I still (controversially on this board) view as her best.
Curious to hear your thoughts on those two songs (7 and understand).
I love 7 Years, I kinda feel like its more of a slow burner than some of the other immediate bangers on the album, but I think it's really pretty and works well where it is in the album. i finally understand is probably my least favorite on the album but i still love it and i think that beat will be great live.
There's a few lows (7 years, party 4 u...) in this tho but the highs are v high in this aswell so eh. It's her most experimental yet but that's mainly because of AG tho who heavily influenced her and this album. It's great but has it's flaws just like Charli. Maybe it'll grow on me more over time.

I don't know it just seems weird to say it's mainly because of AG when she's been doing this kinda stuff for years with many different producers. And I'm saying this as an AG stan.

pink diamond - banger, exciting opener
forever - catchy af banger. Album needed moments of distinction like this one to make sure it didn't turn into just a swamp of 100 Gecs soundcloud pop (that a thing?) experimentation.
Claws - bangs. First three songs are just perfect imo.
7 Year - I'm warming up to this with every listen. It still feels to me like it has less of an identity / purpose than most of the others.
detonate - Really pleasant. Love this one.
enemy - catchy song. needed in the way forever is. probably not on the level of Claws or forever though. Still completely worthwhile and adds to the album.
I finally understand - like 7 years not bad, but I still view this as a transitional track that doesn't add much.
c2.0 - strong
party 4 u - Really liking this one. especially the vocal action in the second half.
anthems - can't deny the workout potential to this song
visions - nice finisher. I'm liking more and more that she ended it with two heaters.
AOTY so far for me but still can't put it over Charli until I've lived with it for a bit.

AG was executive producer on this, Charli and Pop 2 and produced most stuff on Number One Angel. She's obv worked with other producers (mainly Vroom Vroom EP and Number One Angel is where she had multiple people helping her out with writing and producing) but idk. I'm just pointing something out, it's not shade.
definitely, Dylan Brady from Gecs produced a couple of the songs even. basically all these people are friends and constantly working together, influencing each other, etc. I just think it's unfair to mainly give credit to AG for the experimental-ness of the album, although I don't think Bing meant it to be a dig at Charli or anything so it doesn't rly matter.

Also true. My first post probably was a little harsh aswell but I think AG and Danny L Harle crawled so gecs could walk sorta speak. Nowadays they're probably just one big gang vibing of each other and making cool shit but idk.
It's been spinning here in the charts/radio for weeks now and it probably would've won tonight, I think.
Huh, didn’t realize that it’s already been that popular in Europe for that long; I genuinely wouldn’t have thought of it until the Hot Chip remix came out the other day.
Teyana Taylor just announced she’s releasing her new album titled The Album on Friday! It’s got features from erykah badu, lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, future, kehlani, Rick Ross, etc

Woah what the shit. Had zero clue Morgan Kibby played on the new Gaga album. She goes by the name White Seas these days but was a big contributor in the Hurry Up, We're Dreaming era of M83.
