Ah shit, I didn't realize when the deadline was and I was in bed early last night. Sorry.
Jaz > Crool > null > Carini
It's between him and Dan for me right now, and I find Carini the more likely of the two. Some might find it suspicious that I'm stacking up to three here, but there's only one Mafia left so we're past the "info gathering" part of the game. We just need to vote off the right person. The reason I switched to null and waited for other votes to come in was because Carini and I were going back and forth and I feared that it would look like defensiveness/retaliation if I switched my vote right then.
What would a runoff accomplish? We're past the point of being able to gather info that implicates Mafia. Crool is our lone revoter. If he's Mafia, it doesn't matter if we vote Carini straight off or go to a Jaz/Carini runoff, we still lose a townie. If you think I'm Mafia then your vote for me makes sense, but if you're town and think it's Carini then I'd imagine you'd move your vote back, again making Crool's vote not matter. Unless you just want to avoid responsibility completely and have outsource the deciding vote to Crool, I don't see what you hope to accomplish with a runoff (and that has nothing to do with the fact that it's me you switched to - I just don't see the usefulness).

It puts pressure on two people who I think have the best chance of being mafia. I’m not avoiding responsibility I’m trying to give town the best chance to win. If you are town this is good because it’s the time to make your case. You already touched on the fact I lean Carini in the grand scheme of things. The fact that you just want to speed through this lynches without any discussion just makes me feel like I’m making the right decision here.

I understand your suspicion. While generally I'm pro-discussion this point in the game I feel like the discussion that we're gonna have for this round has already been had.
Also, if you're thinking I'm Mafia, why would I move to vote Carini straight off, knowing it would draw attention to me, when I could have just as easily voted for you, leading to a town-town runoff? If I were Mafia I'd need to play a perfect game to win, not draw attention to myself by switching to null, missing the deadline, and moving to vote someone straight off (because then we'd still have a Day 5 regardless but I'd have heaps more suspicion on me). It's true that I'm occasionally willing to be bold when I'm Mafia, but I don't play sloppy or recklessly, which is what that would be.
When you couple that with me moving off of you and onto Todd in Day 2 (taking you out of the runoff and throwing him in) followed by Kanye then voting for Todd, a Jaz/Todd/Kanye trio just doesn't make sense. Of course anyone can say that we set that up for distancing, but that could be said for damn near anything in this game, rendering all voting meaningless.

Bolded is a very good point I had previously not considered. That is unlikely. My main reason for expanding to a runoff, is I just want to try and get things right, and not speed through things for the sake of it. That being said, if we can get some more discussion in before the deadline, I am not opposed to switching. I would like to hear SFA's thoughts on runoff vs straight vote off.

I'm fine with taking our time and getting discussion in. Not sure we need a traditional runoff structure to do that. Just letting someone make a decision when it's 2-2 works and if there is some huge change of heart we aren't committed to just two players.
Having said that I'm not sure how much more I have to add. I feel like all I can do at this point is talk myself out of things but not based on any new information. That doesn't mean we can discuss what we know to try and make the best decision. It's just going to be repetitive.
SOrry it took awhile to response. I've got some family stuff to deal with tonight but I'll try to at least be around and awnser stuff from my phone.

Jesus. It figures this would happen. On my phone and can't realky respond properly until after work.
My first thought was this is Dan setting me up because he's done this exact thing before. But that doesn't make much since when the 3rd player is a newbie. That doesn't mean mafia would be unaware that I'd think that. In fact, the game Dan and LLL set me up in round 5 was Kanye's first game. Moreover, the two of us talked about this in PMs when we were Mafia togeather last Spring.
So my reading of the whack is they whacked Jaz because Jaz usually gets suspicious of me. Dan knows this.
Plus, as i've already said Dan being mafia really doesn't make a lot of sense, despite normal indicators.
The problem is I could read over Crool's game play and make a good case for him not being mafia either.
Yet one of you mofos obviouly is.
I'm going to read over while at work and hopefully will get home to write more around 6ish.

Kanye saving Dan in round one still feels very weird to me. It also feels very weird that Mafia didn't whack SFA instead of Jaz. Feels like if SFA was town, mafia would want to get rid of him as fast as possible to make sure he wasn't able to figure shit out, and keep me around as long as possible, on the assumption that I'll screw things up as a newbie. I'm still here, so the second part has rung true. But then SFA stills sits here, safe and sound in round 5. Really feels like Mafia should have gotten rid of him by now. I'm suspicious of both so this is ain't easy. Would definitely like to hear from Dan, other than him saying he wants to hear from me lol

I will type out my thoughts before voting. At a company dinner right now so it won’t be until later.

Did you really pick up that whole history of me being alive late in the game being a sign from what's been said in this game? That seems like a lot of game knowledge for a first timer.
Btw, as i've argued constantly for years, i'm not THAT good and I'm not much of a threat if all it takes to argue getting me voted off is "SFA shouldn't be alive this late in the game". That literally happened the last time I was in round 5... like 3 or four game ago (ones I played in at least).
I don't disagree that the Kanye vote switch off of Dan in D1R3 was weird. There are just other things that contradict it. Mafia take chances to throw us off but sometimes they hide in plan site. Hard to always know what's best. Feel free to point out what else you've noticed.
As for the Jaz whack being weird. I think it makes sense for you as mafia. As he called you out for sounding coached. He also said you were his second suspect. Which is something I don't recall Dan or I saying. Then you went pretty quite the rest of round 4.
