Deafheaven was something. They gave all their energy and the band sounded great. I could not understand a single thing the guy was singing/screaming though. VIP defiantly not worth it, nice place to chill but horrible stage access, as in zero front of stage access. Closest you could get was 50 yards from the front of stage left for the main stage. Crowd was what I expected, but not in a bad way. Everyone was nice/respectful. And, I found Jesus several times in the crowd, so there's that... Best set was TMV, but much prefer their solo shows where they can go for 3 hours. At least that's what they did in NOLA years ago at house of blues. Still awesome to see them back at it. Thank you all for the recs!
how was Tool for ya? know we had talked about that likely being your top reason for going.
They never disappoint! Can't wait for this next tour. If they are back in NOLA you coming?
Interpol & The Walkmen 11.23 I Am Morbid/Suffocation 11.26 King Diamond 11.29 Sadistic Intent/Massacre 11.30 70K Tons Of Metal 2025 Hell's Heroes 2025 Sick New World 2025 Maryland Deathfest 2025
I can fux with that lineup. I think I'd be posted up on the 3 side stages for 75-80% of the day, though. The two mainstage lineups are just okay, although Primus > QotSA > Foo Fighters seems like an incredible capper on Saturday.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
Makes sense, considering both top names on each day have overlapping fanbases.
Also, can anyone explain Jelly Roll to me?
It seems like every year Danny's been grabbing a country artist that somehow appeals to the same fanbase so this year it's Jelly Roll who I think did the circuit before he exploded? He just finished up a huge arena and amphitheater tour that did way better than I thought it would and his music kinda has a buttrock edge to it so I guess he fits.
I still can't get over Koe being on this lineup though even though he's also a perfect fit lmao
So I’m thinking about going to Welcome To Rockville this year. Has anyone been? How bad are the conflicts? That’s honestly my biggest concern with so many bands I want to see. How miserable is the setup? For reference I’ve been to Roo 10 times, shakey knees 3, bourbon & beyond 2, etc. thanks!

I went for a day in 2021, loved it. They only had 3 stages that year though, so it may be a bit more cramped with 5? The two main stages alternate, but are on opposite ends of the grounds. During downtime on one stage, they usually showed a stream of what the other stage was playing on the screens, so that was neat. I'd say the size of the grounds is probably about Centeroo minus the What area

Any scoopage on Sonic Temple this year? Just got an email from them confirming the lineup is coming soon and some interesting hieroglyphics/map type branding/teases. I know there isn't a ton of scoops that come out about it before they start hinting themselves but was just curious.

I saw some post at some point where they said the lineup was coming in December, so given the timing of the email I hope that means it's coming Friday the 1st.
At one point they also posted then deleted a Sonic Temple logo in the style of Pantera's Reinventing the Steel, so I assume they'll be a headliner.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

They’ve been posted messages in some code that can be deciphered using a photo from their Instagram account.

The headliners are way below what they had last year and even for the cancelled 2020 show. It looks like they just took the Inkcarceration lineup from last year and expanded it.
