Ozzfest ‘98 lets goooo Limp Bizkit, Tool, and Megadeth on same day. LTL tomorrow- not expecting to see Incubus and GNR. Hopeful Foos and Deftones in their place.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I dont really understand why a band that headlines these festivals agreed to be the 6th name on a day of bonnaroo
Cause a paycheck is a paycheck.
yep. and i kind of respect that? also for a band thats been playing for as long as they have, surely there must be some interest in playing for a different kind of crowd in a different setting.
IIRC there were interviews to that effect with Kerry King after Slayer played bonnaroo. sure they played to get paid but also it was kind of like fuck it yeah lets play this "hippie fest" and see what happens. and it sounds like they had a fun time.
i also remember being at that set and Tom Araya laughing at the "pit" because it was just a guy dressed like a banana and a guy dressed like cap'n crunch shoving each other.

Well yeah, playing to vastly diff audiences is a smart thing to do nowadays. It might look like an odd booking but why not try to gain new fans instead of playing to the same crowds over and over. People loved Bizkit at Lolla cause it was so corny but why the hell not

I really wish Wimmer would make another run at the Chicago market. I know Open Air bombed but I feel like they could put this thing in like Hoffman Estates or something.

Do it, and I’ll buy you a Monster Energy/Vodka shot at LTL.

Pretty happy, was real hopeful for Mudvayne and Deftones. I guess Mudvayne is dark for 2023, havent heard a peep. Strong trio of headlinera in Foo, Tool, and Green Day. Definately in for 2nd year in a row. Might have to find a way to Sick New World in Vegas so i can see some of the omissions- basically zero overlap.
