Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
had a lot of issues. got "another fan got these first" for GA twice, and then everything was on resale, got it refreshed and only things left are awful sight lines. its a small venue and the first show so too much competetion. not gonna spend $150 to sit behind the stage

I ended up getting upper bowl seats but front row. Wife didn't want floor and all the lower bowl seats together we behind the stage or way in the back. Or $350+ charity tickets. Really the worst part is I have to drive all the way to glendale.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
at first i thought that $125 through the whole venue was good for anti scalping, because it would be harder to profit off bad seats. but if you make it like that, the value of the pit/front few rows goes WAY up so I'm not really sure if that helped.
also all the protections against for it put in by ticketmaster are bullshit, there were resales as soon as i got in to buy. so idk what they really could have done.
So my cousin was going to go with us but buying separately. Just asked him if he got his tickets. He said no, buying tonight. Yea, no. He had to know better than that.

^^^this is why i don't ever trust anyone to buy tickets for me.

I have to say for as sucky as it is to see only charity seats left at most shows, it is a brilliant fundraising strategy. Hope more bands start to pressure TM to do that.
Obviously would love for the dynamic pricing not to exist at all, but if all of that profit goes to a good cause it's better than straight profit to TM.
That said, ended up with 4 seats in the back corner of MSG night 1. Happy to just be in the building.

Oh I don't either. I'm always the one buying. I couldn't buy 4, so he was supposed to get his own. Fail.

The charity bullshit HURT fans, not HELP. Scalpers are gonna scalp no matter what.
So now all that happened was there were LESS regularly priced tickets, which scalpers scooped up, and now their fans are left having to shell out 3-6x the price.

And of course what now happens is, people who cant afford $500-$600 a ticket for the charity, are now turning to second hand markets TO BUY THE FUCKING SCALPERS TICKETS for $200-$300.

I don't understand the dynamic pricing helping fans either. If they are requiring the buyer to enter with their entire party, is that not sufficient?
I had Radiohead tickets in 2012 and the floor had that policy. They actually swiped your credit card to enter. My debit card was stolen a couple months prior and I got a new card number. I had to show up early and go to guest services to get hardcopy tickets. Sure I guess I could have immediately scalped, but that would have been a hassle and not worth the effort even if I was just looking to make profit.

For the people that bought tickets, can you actually download them now? I thought what they were doing was holding onto them until a few days before the event, so that scalpers couldn't sell them. And the tickets being sold at a much higher price are the 10% mentioned in the announcement, which is a cash grab for the charities, unrelated to anti-scalping measures.

total strikeout on El Paso and Phoenix but we already have flight and hotels so... guess we're gonna figure it out. And figuring it out does not include paying a grand per.

You do realize all they did was take the normal platinum tickets and make Ticketmaster give away the proceeds to Charity.
At the end of the day, there’s a reason why acts don’t price every ticket the same amount. They should have done the standard tiered price ticket scheme that even other leftists like Roger Waters are willing to do so that the upper deck could be something more reasonable like 65 bucks or so
Totally struck out on Chicago night one but then was able to grab 4 GA floor for night two fairly easily. Rollercoaster of ticket buying emotions this morning.
