I'm not that much of a fan, but someone send over the new Odesza No Sleep Mix #12 last night. I haven't listened to it, but one of my kid's girlfriends says she liked it.
At first, all the albums getting delayed were somewhat confusing to me because I thought it was more about it syncing up with touring. I appreciated artists like Sam Smith and Kelly Lee Owens who cited more specific reasons why they were choosing to delay. Yesterday, I saw someone who cited simply that they didn't want to put more strain on the supply chain when it should be more focused on getting life saving material where it needs to be, and that made it click more in my head.
Artists based in cities with shelter in place orders (so like NYC and LA) might not have access to mixing or mastering equipment to complete their albums either. If you physically can't get into your post-production edit bay that is gonna pose an interesting challenge to getting it finished. Same if you wanted to re-take something in a live setting. And if it's a product you weren't going to make money on anyway then there's no rush to get it out.
