This worked out well for me. I wasn't going to be able to do both Riot Fest and Firefly, and MCR was the big reason I wanted to go. I'll hold my ticket for 2022.
KennyHoopla is opening for Machine Gun Kelly this fall. Tour just got announced with a couple of blurred out/TBD dates over Riot Fest weekend. With Kenny already on the lineup, seems very possible that MGK could be there, too.

Why would they want to reveal a headliner like this just over a week after their announcement. They wouldve just dropped it on the new poster and not let people figure it out. Could be the name next to TBS and then on whatever day he ends up on he is 3rd overall which probably tracks. Or if all the ??????????? do mean something he is next to Vic Mensa.

To answer: They didn’t reveal anything, they said they were announcing the rest of the lineup in “the first half of May” anyway, and the guy who is playing amphitheaters is not getting billed below Vic Mensa.

Im just saying that it doesnt seem that Riot is going blow their wad on MGK making it obvious he is playing and then having him be a headliner come poster time. And youre going to have people say ''thats all they could do after having My Chemical Romance?'' Its a downgrade. Who cares about venue size on tour right now. A lot of festival billings via venue size have been thrown out the window as it is. Megan Thee Stallion gets to headline Bonnaroo but never toured arenas or amphitheaters herself? Yeah, great theory you got going.

Right now there is only 1 of 3 headliners confirmed: Smashing Pumpkins. I think it's totally possible that MGK is that 3rd headliner, while still having a much larger 1st spot headliner tba.
Like it or not, MGK is way more popular and in demand than every confirmed artist so far. I'd put my money on him being headliner number 3. But we'll see!

Were they ever considered a headliner for this? On the updated poster there is a question mark name between the Pumpkins and them. Plus MGK is still a much much bigger name than them. He has almost 9x the amount of Spotify monthly listeners, he just announced a Fall tour doing venues more than double the size of venues RTJ does (at least in my city) and he has a number 1 album that's still charting 7 months later.
I love RTJ, but I'm still massively confused why they were billed as headliners in 2019, especially above Incubus.
Gotta agree with manoverboard here. Look at the poster, 2 of the first 3 names (aka the headliners) are still TBA. MGK, as much as i really hate him, is a big draw. Bigger than RTJ and the Pixies, for sure, based on recent tour size/spotify plays/basically any metric. It would make sense to throw him in the mix since it appeals to a younger crowd than most of the currently announced lineup.

"Only NIN headline shows of 2021" seems to refer to their own standalone shows. Festivals could still happen. Why would they otherwise book the Cleveland dates during the week in lieu of on a weekend?

IDK, it’s written in one of those ways that can leave it open-ended on a technicality, but also if they played Riot Fest it would surely also be a “headline show”. That being said...
They promised first half of May, so the full lineup has to drop tomorrow or Friday, right?
Also just noticed that the ticket page on eventbrite says GA and VIP are sold out. Has to be just because the prices are going to bump up when the full lineup drops.

With the CDC now announcing that if youre fully vaccinated that you dont have to distance or wear masks, whats stopping anyone from making their announcements now and saying vaxx only or gtfo. Let there be uproar and itll calm down so the few asshats will get their shot.
