Marc Rebillet is a meme booking lol, ofcourse his lyrics have no substance.
Shit’s kind of great though. I watched him throw down on Sway and caught some improv shit he had out there. I was close to tears laughing at it. Barring a conflict, no way I’m missing the comedy. He’s a talented keyboardist as well.
Anyone else wondering how Lizzo got the headliner slot over Miley?
Not even a little.
If anything I'm a little surprised that Vampire Weekend never grew to headliner status.
I think part of it has to do with the length of time between Modern Vampires and their new album. They seemed to be on the cusp of headlining after their last album, but there was nothing in the past six years that built any hype and the momentum they had going for them fizzled out, esp with Rostam leaving. Their sound also just doesn't seem suited for headlining shows, it's pretty and exceptionally well-crafted indie music, but not particularly high-energy or anthemic or dramatic. They're not a rare get and they don't have a rabid following, so there's really nothing propelling them to that next level.

I really do think Thursday is the weakest part of the lineup: after doing some research there's plenty on here I like but nothing that really gets me excited in a way that Saba or Comet or Caroline Rose did
That being said, the undercard and mid-level acts are a lot deeper than they first appeared when the lineup dropped. A pretty glaring lack of quality indie rock names at the midcard level (stuff like National, Courtney, Beach House) but the rap is much improved, there's about 3 or 4 good non-bass electronic acts instead of just 1, and the left-field jazz and world type stuff is just as present.
I'm pretty excited to hopefully attend my fourth Roo, and maybe this is corny but it's really fun to see the board getting so into it as well!
Tent only got the bopstick and is above pod 7 now.
damn. Did they at least change how they fill up the campground instead of the crapshoot? Tent only was always a great backup if you didn’t like your random spot.

When if you come to brunch I fully expect you to look exactly like your avatar, down to the shirt+tie and unwavering inviting smile.

Yeah, I believe this year they're trying to work things so that the early arrivers don't get dumped in BFE. I'm really REALLY disappointed in the lack of Tent Only, but I'm hoping it means that they sincerely did put a lot of energy into improving the logistics of arriving.

It's not a surprise because of how big she is right now. Mu sister, who's never been to s festival, told us she wants to go see Lizzo. My wife said she heard one of her 60+ co-workers singing Good As Hell yesterday. She's everywhere. But it is impressive thst she came out of nowhere to be the first female headliner, with Miley and Lana also on the lineup.
