It had been explicitly ineligible in previous drafts. I thought they were done playing live but never looked into it.
I imagined it was ineligible as well, but I’d like to hear how or why I can’t have them before I give it up. Doesn’t really seem different than a few others that have passed.
Does anybody that actually gives a shit about this selection want to speak up here or are y'all just leaving this to me?

Suss picks be suss. If that Onyeabor show was eligible someone would have snagged it by like round 8.

I think sketchy UDFA picks are lame, i dropped a couple without fighting because we have such a short time to discuss these. I think we all know what’s right

Surprised nobody has mentioned one reason. We just dont like that its a good act that everyone thought was ineligible but actually is?
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

It was on the intelligible list for past drafts for a reason. The reason being (I believe) that this supergroup isn’t currently active. They haven’t done anything in years and all members are currently active in their other projects. However, it looks like they were left off the ineligible list this time I’m guessing (I haven’t actually looked).

We didn't have a list for this draft.
I think the pick is okay btw.

Is there a reason Planetarium wouldn’t fit that same description. I think the band members thing means even less with AB since the the lineup is described to be evolving / fluid.

Come on dude. You know this band isn't active. Please mock yourself on your podcast.

I definitely assumed they weren’t allowed. Then I thought about it and realized there was less evidence of them being inactive than there is for Adele. The rules got moved back to 2015. They’ve played the required shows, never said they they were done for good...
Maybe we should amend the rules to say, “no person is allowed to remember that a good act is eligible if the rest of the group assumed said act was ineligible through the 25th round.”
Again, I’m trying to find why they are less eligible than like 10 others that have been taken. Doing a bunch of googling and can’t find anything substantial. Its funny though because even if they did say “we are just going to do this for one year,” it would still be less of an indictment than evidence against Adele.

I do agree that there are lots of holes in the rules. There's no real proof at all that Portishead is active. People decide to be for or against things pretty randomly. But you know this really only existed for a few shows in one year.
The window definitely should've been 2016, picking Atomic Bomb this late is a consequence (like many others like Blur or Portishead for example) of that and it should be allowed imo. + keep in mind that we changed the rules regarding the window; the chance of touring or being active the following year is not within the rules anymore so the act in question has to have 3 shows to be active within the time frame to be considered active.

I guess another question I have is why did we move the range back to 2015 if only to go on to say anyone who played in 2015 most recently seems inactive. Of course they do but thats why we widened the playing field for this fantasy game, right?
Portishead, Blur, and Atomic Bomb do not feel eligible. And if we wanted to be diligent and say members of AB and Blur have been documented to be “focusing on other projects,” then idk why we moved back the date at all, and we need to take a harder look at that phrase moving forward because if that was taken seriously almost all supergroups could be disputed.
