Yeah, I had that issue aswell. I just counted them with the females. Making three categories would be best case but I think it'd be pointless since in most cases it'd be 0-1%.
I counted trans females as females but Yves Tumor is non-binary and I didn’t count them as female
Id Do the same with them yeah. Arca for example, I counted with females because I think they identify as female (correct if Im wrong tho)
This graph represents everyone's complete line ups and the difference in gender.
Highest scoring is sang_xcx 's with 100% Lowest is mardude 's with 16%
The mean is 33,25% // If you were to exclude me and sang's line up, the mean would drop nearly 5 (!)% to 27,9%. Me and sang_xcx have a significally higher difference than the rest (100% and 62% vs 49,9%) and are the only outliers here No one got a significally lower difference, though mardude was close (16% vs 16,6%)
Next graph (and final one lol) shows everyone's top 8 and the difference in gender, cause I wanted to know if people with lower percentages also had a lower top line compared to the rest of their program. With day by day poster's it was sometimes hard to make up the case who be billed 8th (Pepe's line up for example you'd make the case Kali Uchis would be 8th or Nicolas Jaar, that was the most clear issue I had with making this. The rest was fairly obvious.)
Highest difference is ofcourse again sang's with 100%. Lowest are Jake Jortles, Pepe Silvia, Jaz, Kim Smoltz, Looroo, King T and Nathan Fielder with 12,5% or 1/8.
The mean here is 28,1%. This is actually a lot lower in comparison to overall line up's. This could be explained by female acts either not being picked (to mainstream, popacts) or because there just aren't a lot of female acts that could 'be' a top 8 type act unless bumped like Rosalia till headliner on Jaz's line up or Cdev with Kacey Musgraves.
Me and sang again have significally higher difference in comparison to the rest (100% and 50% vs 42,2%). Jake Jortles, Pepe Silvia, Jaz, Kim Smoltz, Looroo, King T and Nathan Fielder have significally lower in comparison to the rest (12,5% vs 14%).
The golden middleroad seems to lay between 2 and 3 here.
something noteworthy: Cap N Mac's low difference in gender does not represent in his top line (20% vs 37,5%), that difference is significant. Todd and mardude also have a difference in their topline in comparison to their complete line up but aren't significant; Todd (19% vs 25%) and mardude (16% vs 25%). On the other hand, rooloo's top 8 has significally less female representation in comparison to his full line up (35% vs 12,5%).
Pitchfork also made some graphs two years ago of the summer of 2018 (link)
Does Inforoo 'better' than festivals back then? (I know.. Are their newer numbers for this??) It's hard to say with these numbers. In 2017 the gender difference was 26-74, so compared to that year specifically Inforoo does has an overall better representation (33-67) and even without the two festivals who had a significally higher difference (sang and mine), the difference is still 28-72 and thus higher.

Couple things: Your lineup is fucking sick front to back, good work king Zola Jesus is playing twice, not sure if that's intentional or not Kaytranada vs. Black Coffee is heartbreaking and seems avoidable (though there's tough conflicts throughout obviously) My big takeaway for next time is to move to 3-4 stages instead of trying to fill 5 Do you have a playlist on Spotify? My mistake on Zola, thanks for pointing it out. I don't really enjoy making schedules but I do enjoy the idea of making mfs get up at 10 in the morning and run around like a crazy person until 5 in the morning, hence the four stages. (Okay I made that up, it's just because I was making a schedule last minute and was using a template I already had). I don't have Spotify though so sorry, no playlist! Appreciate the feedback though.

Lol yup. Perth is 2 hours behind us, Adelaide is 30mins behind, QLD doesn't observe DST so they're only 1 hour behind for part of the year. And no one gaf about NT, so they don't matter.
This was always fun for work stuff because our website time was set in Sydney local time and we'd have to put in the publish end time for events so they'd go off the website an hour before showtime. So for some of the year it was one time and for other parts of the year it's another. I always had post it notes around my monitor to help me remember.
