I'm in Singapore all week - I will try to check in as often as I can, but it all depends on what I'm doing / how spotty whatever wifi I connect to is. Back home on Saturday (Friday US time).
probably an early overreaction but just to put it out there I wouldn’t be opposed to shortening the pick time to 8 or even 6 hours
I wouldn't be opposed to changing to that in later rounds where the picks don't necessarily mean as much, but I don't think someone should have a chance at a decent pick taken from them because they were sleeping, or at work, or just didn't get to check the thread in that short amount of time.

no yeah I noticed and am thankful, I’ve just always been of the mindset that 24 was wayyyy too long to begin with. I’m def being impatient here, so don’t take my bitching too seriously. just take it as a testament to how much fun the game you’ve made is !

Wait so for these six hour windows...if the person before you picks at, say, 1am and you’ve already gone to bed, if you aren’t up before 7am to declare your next pick, you lose out? That doesn’t seem right.... I get shortening to 8 hours but 6 is like not even a full night’s sleep for many folks.

if you’re not ready to plan your sleep schedule around drafting do you really deserve to be in the draft?

You'd get to keep one selection from this draft in the next draft but you'd surrender the equivalent draft pick in the next draft.
You would have to designate the pick at the end of this draft, though, so you'd run the risk of an act breaking up, dying, getting cancelled, losing popularity, etc. You'd also be sacrificing the opportunity to get someone potentially better next year.

Just in the later rounds but yeah. You make up the pick when you're awake or designate a proxy.
Besides, that's the price that you pay for getting a full night's sleep. (I have two young kids and I'm bitter.)
